Maybe the bounce song they stole off sheffield Wed's was really more about their cheques rather than their hated for Forest.

Mate of mine whose a Stokie went to the game on Saturday, said he was talking to a shagger at a bar near the ground. He said he mentioned Forest to him and his words were "this is a Derby pub, we don't mention them in here"

They were in Frankie and bennys... get that on Green Street.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Reading the excellent article on the Athletic web site I feel that HMRC will have a big say If Derby survive. For years HMRC have been unsecured creditors, but after the 2020 finance act HMRC become preferred creditors which means their bill must be paid in full, not in pence in the pound.
I have seen in other article's that HMRC believe that football clubs have used administration as a means of avoiding their tax liability's.
Derby owe £30 million to HMRC, £10 million in football related debts and £20 million mortgage on their training ground that are considered secured debts.
Anyone walking into to buy Derby will need deep pockets they may be able to transfer the football debts and get the mortgage reassigned to the new company but I think under the new rules HMRC will require payment in full before a new company can be set up, if payment is not received HMRC will probably liquidate Derby.
I don't want any clubs to out of business, but I expect HMRC to play hardball as to many clubs have used receivership to avoid paying paying tax, so Derby may pay the price.
Hope I'm wrong. but the landscape has changed and some club will pay the price.

Would you if you might not be getting paid to do it?

Oh that's right Forest arent the ones going out of business with low staff moral, but you'd never know it by how they perform at times.

    Is HMRC „in full“ though?

I have read, as they are now a secured-creditor, it means two-thirds of the bill (at least) has to be paid in full.

That’s still £20m though which is a tidy sum.

(As ever, as the man in the orthopaedic shoes said, „I’ll happily stand corrected“).

Former Derby youth played and shone for Liverpool last night.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...one-debut.html

A big talent and potential multi million pound sale sold for peanuts last season to pay a month or two of wages. Another example how Mel sold their future to desperately stay afloat and hide his monumental f*ck ups.

Rising to 3.2m I think. Not bad for a 16 yo but if one of the best teams in the world is paying that, there’s every chance he could be worth 32m in a few years time.

I hope he goes on to play for England so Derby fans can feel as disappointed about the fee and never seeing him play as we do when Bamford played for England.

Yes needs to be 2/3 of the bill now.

And the taxman couldn’t care less about whether they survive, he just wants his money.

    Oh well, never mind.

    To quote The Athletic:

"Deprived of matchday revenue, lots of EFL clubs withheld payroll taxes and VAT during the pandemic but all of them, apart from Derby, have agreed time-to-pay deals. The taxman does not give football clubs any discounts but he usually offers payment plans. Not this time."

I Think SRV is a bit too sophisticated for Derby folk to understand.

Some great tweets to Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson asking for them to buy Derby.

    There’s a reason these people are rich….

To add further to this. Legislation was enacted in Finance Bill 2020 to give preference to certain debts due to HMRC in the event of insolvency.

secured creditors with a fixed charge (after costs of realisation)

    insolvency practitioners’ fees and expenses

    preferential creditors

    secondary preferential creditors

    prescribed part creditors

secured creditors with a floating charge

    non-preferential creditors
shareholders (for insolvent companies) or individual (for personal insolvency cases

Wow.... I bet the EFL are shitting themselves.

What are you planning on fighting? You broke P&S rules, you know the rules that all 72 Football league clubs agreed and signed up to?

Brilliant. Derby wonder why they aren't getting any sympathy from other supporters.

Honestly, the amount of Derby fans who have laughed at what Mel was doing for years and their continued delusion over it being the EFL against them makes them one of the most arrogant set of supporters with cognitive dissonance on mass scale I've ever come across.
