With Cooper in charge, he may be the manager to be able to get something out of him.

There's nothing to get out of him. Shed loads of managers at various different clubs have tried and all failed. Nearly 5 and a half years since he last did anything of note. It really is time we let this one go and just accepted that he's shit (as the overwhelming evidence strongly suggests).

Agree. Having had a taste of life outside, he's not going to come for peanuts and he's not exactly got a glowing CV.

There must be youngsters around with as much potential who could be purchased for far less. If Brentford can do it, we can, too.

We just need someone with the wherewithal.

Or you could look at it as he was pushed to a level higher too soon. Never really got much of chance at West brom and had a very stop start type of development. Still plenty of talent in him and he isn't over the hill. Out of everyone we have more of a chance of picking him up, then Rhian brewster who is way out of our transfer range.

He has played under some frankly world class coaches and for some great clubs. I'm inclined to lean towards him being shite rather than misused

He's been poor wherever he's been over the last 5 and a half years, including failing to set the world alight at Celtic (who play in a league that is at a lower standard than the Championship).

His entire career is dining off that one month of good form way back in August 2016. As I've said before whenever Burke is brought up on here, if he had never played for us then nobody on here would advocate signing him, and rightfully so. He would be a really awful (and probably expensive) signing for Forest, and will probably be spending the rest of his career playing in the lower leagues or Scotland once his Sheffield United contract expires.

His not really dining of one month when we have followed his progress through the youth ranks at forest. Until 3 months ago everyone thought Brereton was useless and his had the benefit of 3 season playing every week to develop. Celtic would piss all over any championship team.

He earned himself a move on the back of that purple patch, and has done nothing ever since. He's absolutely dining on that one month of form.

Brereton may have struggled at Blackburn until recently, but the club obviously saw something in him to keep him around long enough for him to come good. Burke on the other hand is constantly on the move as no club or manager seems to think he's worth keeping around, which tells its own story.

Celtic may be better than most Championship teams, but the teams they play every week certainly aren't; in fact most would struggle in League One.

There is absolutely nothing in the last half a decade since leaving Forest that suggests he could become a good player at this level. He's been stealing a living for ages now, and I'd rather we didn't become the next club to top up his bank balance for little in return.

Nah, they'd get absolutely hammered at this level. They played two Championship sides in the summer and struggled to a draw against one, Bristol City, and were beaten at home by the other - Preston.

Celtic's squad is dreadful. Anything from the top 10 in the Championship would annihilate it. If they came up against WBA, Fulham or Bournemouth you'd be looking at 4 or 5 goal margin defeats easily.

I would say blackburn had a smaller squad and didn't have the option to stick him on the bench and play someone else. Burke best chance is to go to a club mid table Championship team and get as much game time as he can.

It was a typo. Apparently he is going to Millwall which is good news for us.

Do people think Burke would have been a success if he’d stayed at Forest or would the wheels have come off the cart here as well?

I think he'd have been a good champ player.

At QPR he still well might be.

Unfortunate for him he's ended up round the other side of the inner circle then.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.
