Boro supporters have about as much patience as ours then.

    Lmaoooo

Hey, Britt wanted to leave so he better buckle down and try his best before the fans turn on him. Monk looks like a fucking albino snake.

Are you equating Scottish championship experience to actually scoring goals in a shite championship football team??

Cummings might be awesome but if you keep signing players from there then it will not work out more times than it does. That's what crap teams do and hope it all works out.

    Your own argument.

But it seems to be different criteria for different players.

Unless he plays for Forest of course in which case it's perfectly acceptable to not even wait that long......

He'll do well for them in the league, then they'll be like our fans in the sense that they write him off prematurely.

I'm still sticking to the fact that I think he'll have broken down by October.

To be fair Boro are used to particularly good strikers.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

We've invested a lot of money in Britt in terms of wages, and a lot of time & care looking after him whilst injured & nurturing him back to full fitness. Just from a decency POV I'd like to think that Britt, as a human being, might recognize this and think "Forest could really do with my goals this season. I'd like to re-invest that into them to ensure they stay up whilst they stabilize, as a way of showing graditude".

From a business & other perspectives I can see why that hasn't happened, and I actually think the move is win-win for everyone, so can't really grumble.

But Britt has gone from being a player I had fondness for & a potential hero, to just another fat commodity which I've no feelings for. He is now the enemy and I've no connection to him at all. If him staying fit means we're better off as a club I hope he stays fit. If we'd be better off for him recieving a career ending injury I'd see his career finished in a milisecond.

I can see where you're coming from. I pissed myself laughing (figuratively speaking) when Neil Webb fucked himself shortly after leaving us for Man Ure..

He's probably gonna look like a bit of a donkey in comparison to Negredo, to be honest. And when I say 'a bit of a' I mean 'an absolute fucking'. Poor lad!

Then Britt will look at their 27 goals last season and Negredo's whopping tally of 7 and have a little chuckle to himself.

If he looks fat and lazy it's because his wallet is weighing him down.

Just caught a few seconds of an interview on SSNHQ with Britt. Anyone see the whole thing? Did he say anything interesting? Which would be a first in a player interview I know, but thought it worth asking.

Technically they're worlds apart. I'm sure Britt will win them over with his finishing but it's bound to feel like a downgrade to them.

I highly doubt it - the bloke is thick as mince, even by footballer standards.

This thing with parachute money is frankly ridiculous. Middlesbrough are buying a third striker, West Ham's Fletscher, for 7m. More than 30m to buy strikers.
    Nouveau riche football. Ridiculous.

If you're gobsmacked now, just wait until you're reading fans calling for Warburton to be sacked because he's sat 5th alongside some of those teams, and yet they deem him to be underachieving coz he aint top 2

I still think we've had Middlesborough's pants down with £15m to be honest.

He's a good striker in this league but I certainly don't think he's stand out. If it wasn't for Ruben Neves then Britt would have been the most expensive Championship to Championship transfer ever.

Is he a better player than Dwight Gayle? Matt Richie? McCormack & Rhodes (in their prime?). For me he isn't any better - perhaps par at best, but then you have to bring in to question his fitness given it took him all of last season until the final game before he regained what looked like full match sharpness.

I also have reservations about whether Britt can make it in the Premier League give his overall contribution isn't exactly a lot. Great at poaching, which you need at this level, but speed of PL will mean he needs to offer more.

    Great business for £15m.
