Nottingham Forest have always been a club that either discovered new talent though it's academy or similar or develops raw talent from lower clubs. We then sell and we've always been a selling club. There are plenty of examples way back to my earliest memory Ian Storey- Moore. The only exception was a brief period as league and European champions, but remember most of that team was already at the club when languishing in the second division or had been bought for next to nowt Burns Lloyd et al. This continued through the 80s 90s and beyond Webb Colleymore Reid Dawson it's always sell sell sell Britt is just the latest get over it and move on we will have a far better structure and team next year and will be back in the premier league by the end of the decade

Only four, and it's only Wednesday?

You need to have a chat with Pele, he'll fix you up.

    Eh!

Your telling me they don't have sun beds in London?

If it was my decision I'd be up in the North East too.

    Anywhere but London.

This thread ia hilarious people saying "he's now financially sorted for life" etc he is already sorted for life he was on 1.3m a year x 4years left thats 5.2m plus the 3m he's already had.

People are talking like he's been on minimum wage the past 3 years and was struggling to eat.

Agreed, add Henry Newton and Duncan McKenzie to the list. Those are the the players that are worth getting upset about not an average one with a terrible injury record.

Isn't it a bit late to get upset about McKenzie leaving? I suppose as Britt has just left it's understandable that some aren't happy, but as I said before, players move on and so does the football club.

I just think how I felt when SVC left and losing Britt doesn't even ripple the water.
That's not being disrespectful to Britt. It just proves we have lost far far more influential and better players in the past and managed to survive.
I would also be more gutted If we nearly went up last season and sold him.

Why has this moved to Football Banter?

It's been two days since he moved and the discussion is still relevant to Forest banter, imo.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

Because people complained it was in "Forest Banter".

    Maybe we need another poll...

These days, I think the only thing that makes look forward to the football actually getting started in early August might be the transfer/takeover waffle in mid July.

We'll start the season with eleven on the pitch same as always. And whoever they are, they ought to be a bit better than last year.

Signing on bonus, increase in wages, better chance of promotion.

Of course he wanted to leave, his only decision once the interest was confirmed was whether it was going to PL at Burnley for less money or Boro in Championship with more money. In the end he didn't have a decision to make, but both of those options were more sensible than staying at Forest.

Sensible? It's not like he'd have been struggling to pay the bills if he'd stayed here. He's shown no loyalty and jumped at the first sniff of the big bucks. Don't blame him, most people would have done the same.

In your two first friendlies, you had four different strikers scoring.

The mood on this topic should be: Assombawho?
