    Default Darius Henderson

He's training with us in Sweden with a view to signing.

True definition of a club going backwards.

My decision not to renew looks wiser all the time.

I agree DH could not even get in very poor orient side and now Freedman as brought him in to the squad. Freedmans decisions at the end of last was baffling but this one is plain crazy

Hasn't he just been paid 10k a week to be relegated from the Third Division? He might be looking for too much for us now.

I just don't understand what's going through Dougie's head, why not just work with what we've got, rather than add a load of garbage just because they're on a free.

Oh i don't know. The only problems i had with Hendo is his injury issues. He had a bunch of them when he was with forest and he had them when he was with Orient. Maybe a pay as you play contract ?

We have wingers now , someone like Hendo could thrive on the crosses of Burke & Antonio. You know what you get with Hendo , he won't surprise anyone with a burst of speed or skill , not particularly mobile but he's a beast in the air and he's strong and could bully defenders.

Hopefully there will be stiff competition from Bostick for his signature, render the big useless **** down for glue and put him out of my misery.

I thought this was a joke, one of them posts where you put a link up from couple of years back when we actually did sign him , to try and fool us. But its actually true, fucking hell. Hilarious.

Or...the true definition of a manager working with tight restrictions. Having Henderson as an impact substitute was always good (if not better) than when he started the game. Walker and Blackstock are our only fit strikers right now, and I predict Dexter will break down within the first few games, so having someone like Henderson as backup isn't such a bad idea.

You know he hasnt actually signed? hes gone over to train with the first team, Dougie will have a look at him and see if hes up to anything, like he has with Maynard and Taylor, it doesnt cost us anything and Hendo was a fairly decent lone striker for us and scored 8 goals in 16 starts for Orient, which seems decent for a shit team that got relegated. It doesnt hurt to have a look, especially given our limited options

Lord above. May as well get Gareth Taylor out of retirement as well to add more weight to our league one push. I despair.

Oh Dougie, already looking for your pay off.

It's a squad game , we currently only have Dex & Walker as our fit strikers. Considering that we often had to resort to antonio to play striker , we do need a specialised target man type striker to play upfront. Hendo is a viable option as backup to Dex.

Can't see how you can blame Dougie for this. The millions squandered by other managers has put us in this position. We can only buy players that we can afford..........up to a fiver.

He'd be the new Adebola. A specific option to have on the bench. Not our No.1 striker.

Hendo did well here despite the snobbish myths. Not a world beater, but a good option to have on a free, as he was first time round.

Another part of Dougie's rag-tag rogue jigsaw. Next season should be mint if we keep making signings like him, Ward & Mills. We'll have a suicide squad of utter badassess.

The football will likely be shit though.

Nothing against Hendo, his scoring rate per minute is as good as anyones.

Dougie aint got much to spend, but the precedents he,s setting for this season dont look good. Henderson would suggest we could persevere with the fruitless long ball that bounces off our big lump, then we have a 5ft 5 striker on trial that suggests something different. Freedman has expressed a liking for players that can play in different positions. Add the potential for injury to most of these trialists & the whole thing comes across as a fucking mess.

I just think we would benefit more from putting players in specialist positions & going with a set system & running with it.

He won't sign. This is obviously a way to twist the arm of Maynard. Even if he did he was never a bad backup, I just never liked him.

Not sure why anyone is surprised. We've signed players so far which indicate we'll play defensively and narrow (Mills/Hobbs) and look to break under a direct counter attack (Ward/Antonio). The big bully target man just completes the set. It was entirely predictable we'd sign someone like Hendo given our embargo.

Thing is, it might be quite effective, but it's going to be an utterly boring season. Mid-table at best after sacrficing any hint of nice football.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.
