Nottingham Forest have been linked with released Derby County forward Jamie Ward.
The 29-year-old was only officially released by the Reds' arch enemies yesterday, after four years with the club.
But it has not stopped the former Chesterfield and Sheffield United player being quickly linked with other clubs, including Forest.
Despite being under a transfer embargo, there would be nothing stopping the Reds signing Ward if they are interested in him because he will become a free agent when his contract at the iPro Stadium expires this summer.

The NEP manage to create yet another story from an unsubstantiated internet rumour.
No doubt the first of many this summer.

Yep - Too many nice guys in our squad, need someone like him
More effort than quality, although he is used to playing wide in a 433/451 so would suit in that respect.
Wouldn't Mackie be a better option?

Poxy little ferret. This guy is the quintessential sheepshagger
No thanks
We need a player like him in the side, a nasty little so and so, down side is he is very injury prone with his hamstrings going once a month!
Thought I had read somewhere that he is a blunts fan.
Well we're in for him according to Alan Nixon ( & he's as close as any journo to Dougie ).
I hope not.
I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism
Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.

If this has any element of truth in it .. it can only be because they intend to entertain bids for Antonio and believe Ward to be a cheap alternative ... lets be honest he's always been a pain to Forest whenever we have played against us !
Getting past the Derby thing (and him being a prick) it probably wouldn't be a bad singing, especially on a free
He wouldn't be a bad signing but he's badly injury prone.
He's an absolute shit, who joyfully put the ball in the net despite being implored by Forest's players to out it out when Chris Cohen was lying on the ground in agony.
Not the kind of unsporting player I want at my club.
Well it's pretty difficult under an embargo
If he wasn't made out of wet tissue paper he wouldn't be a bad squad player.
Hopefully just the NEP being lazy. We don't need more biscuits.
