Looks like it could be a good year for the Damsons.

Despite my little accident and injuries from yesterday, I've managed to prick out and transplant 200+ seedlings.

This piccy was taken from my living room window, although there is a nice blue sky... it's bloody freezing out there!

Moved all my seedlings from the house to the polytunnel yesterday..

Now I'm wondering what will survive this cold snap.

I've been bringing mine indoors at night time.

Anyone has seedlings start to flower before it's warm enough to plant them out? My marigolds appear to be giving it a good go!

There's gonna be a frost for the next three nights I certainly wouldn't plant them out yet. I've got bud appearing on some of my cosmos plants.

You're welcome Congerz. I learned this technique from Strummer.

Decided it's time to put a fence up around the front and side of my property to stop every cutting across it (We're in an end house and there's no pavement on our side of the road, so everyone cuts across it - kids run across my garden etc...), which I've been noticing more and more - it's like people's respect is evaporating.

My Dad helped me put up an really good back fence - we had a crappy rotten wood thing that fell down within a year of us being in the house - concrete posts, kick boards - long lasting stuff. But he's 71 now and I didn't fancy the hard work, so I'm looking around for a contractor to do it.

Nice one Congerz, sounds like it needs to be done. Beware of Pikeys. Find a reputable company and check feedback reviews etc.

I've got a couple of recoomendations so far - one local company aren't doing installs themselves at the moment, due to Covid, but recomended an independent who uses them for supplies and a guy who did my boss's back garden fence.
I always get three quotes for any job, to make sure the price is fair - but I'll also be balancing their appearance and behavour when they come to measure up.

Basically I treat them like I do potential suppliers in my working life!

When would you say you could put tomatoes in the greenhouse? I totally misjudged my timings and the kitchen window is a bit green!

They're ready to go into the greenhouse. The worst frosts should have past now.

It's probably safe to get them into the beds too, but depends on you're feeling about frosts and cold nights, maybe hold on a few weeks and keep them on a shelf in pots.

If they're not going into beds, I'd get them in the modules into a bigger pot though, or you'll get root bind.

Brilliant, thanks. The need to get them into bigger pots is what's bothering me, and I cannot do it in their current location.
