It would certainly be a hell of a Ride.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Also, this afternoon, from the what-the-fucking-hell-department:

Bayern - at full strength apart from the rested Robert Lewandowski (he came in as a sub after 57 minutes when Bayern were 2-1 down) - were battered by a counterattacking Hoffenheim side, who had only 27% possession but absolutely deserved their victory, which included a 92nd minute penalty given away by Manuel Neuer.

As it stands - granted after only two rounds of matches - Hoffenheim now lead the Bundesliga, and FC Augsburg are second.

I would also add, FC Augsburg beat Dortmund 2-0 as well.

The local, pretty much, non league side had a blinder of a season last year and managed to get promoted to Serie c and tonight the open their campaign against Rubentus u23 on live TV.

... And they're only bloody winning! 1-0. Barely had a kick but their keeper dropped a bollock and Pro Sesto are one up at the break.

Lost 2-1 in the end. Fecking Juve.

In other news 11 genoa players (and three non playing staff) have tested positive after their game against Napoli at the weekend.

Makes me laugh. The English clubs do all this posturing but the foreign clubs know they can hold out for ridiculous fees and the Prem mugs will pay it.

He’ll go there on deadline day for about 115m I bet.

All while lower league clubs will be struggling to keep the club going due to lack of finances.

As I posted before, Dortmund will sell for €120m, or around £110m.

They have their man under contract, and have set a price. If United want him, they will have to pay.

I would note however, Dortmund lost €47m for the last financial year (up to the end of last season) so there may be a deal to be done, but it will be on their terms, not Man U‘s.

Sporting Director Michael Zorc has again said, they do not have to sell anyone at this time.

Unless the player says he doesn’t want to play for them anymore...

Strangely enough, he’s said the opposite.

Sancho himself - so far - has publicly commented he is happy at Die Schwarzgelb, despite it being pretty common knowledge that a five-year contract has been offered by Man U to his agent, and - allegedly - accepted. I say „allegedly“ as public acknowledgment by the player of that would be evidence of him having been „tapped up“, but then, United do rather have form for that sort of thing!

Just commentating on what SSN were saying. I'm guessing this bid has been timed to coincide with the player letting his feelings be known.

And yeah, if course no one can be found to officially be involved in tapping up, but name me a deal which happens without it these days...

There was a piece in Kicker (the German football bible!) a couple of weeks back, an interview with him before the new season kicked off where he professed himself happy in Dortmund.

One pointer: tomorrow night sees the German Supercup between Dortmund and FC Bayern. It will be telling if he plays in that, or not.

Oh and as for Man U, they’ve been buggers for it. Jaap Stam, in his autobiography, revealed he was tapped up personally by Ferguson while still at PSV Eindhoven.

He’s not worth that, but if they get him and keep him for 10 years, he will be.

110m will struggle to get you a low end full-back in a few years time. It’s ridiculous.

Ah, I may have answered my own question:

    https://www.kicker.de/785885/artikel...-nach-muenchen

Jason Sancho and goalie Roman Bürki have not travelled with the Dortmund squad for the Supercup.

    So...

To put the bid in perspective. That is to Man Utd what offering £3.2m for a player would be to Nottingham Forest.

Our spending on McKenna will probably end up being much more in relative terms than Man U spend on Sancho.

Larisa in Greece agreed terms with an international Armenian CB, Varazdat Haroyan. The transfer did not materialize, however. Because of the general drafting in the army for the war against Azerbaidjan, the player was drafted too. In fact, his agent informed the owner of Larisa that Haroyan is in the first line of the war.

All this sounds like a story dating from the early 20th not the early 21st century.

In Europe’s most entertaining league, it’s the German Supercup tonight; Bayern v Dortmund, a match that’s being billed as Robert Lewandowski against Erling Braut Håland.

Kick off in ten minutes, should be on BT Sport in the UK.

Oh and Bibiana Steinhaus - Germany’s best female official - is in charge.

Tune in, you know it makes sense.

    Well.

    Bayern 3, Dortmund 2.

And Joshua Kimmich (on red, lay on the ground) scored the winning goal - after Dortmund fought back from 2-0 down - from this position:

How will you explain that to your four-year-old son?
