Well, I’m rather glad I picked Leverkusen 3, Dortmund 4 to watch this afternoon.

An absolutely spectacular match, that had pretty much everything.

And there’s still Leipzig-Bayern to come in an hour.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

I'm glad too for the same reason Especially the= last minutes od 1st half, from 1-0 to 1-2 in two minutes, then VAR makes it 1-1 and then 2-1 for Leverkusen.

So, right after watching wonderful BvB vs B04 and then enjoying Bayern thrashing Leipzig 4-1 I've switched channels and now I'm watching something called Polish top league, my local team Śląsk Wrocław vs Legia Warsaw.
It's like going straight from exquisite cuisine to eating cat food (that's been first left to rot for a week).

Is Yuri Ribeiro playing for Legia, Klinsi?

I’m watching Atalanta v Fiorentina from Serie A.

They've got Yuri in, using him as a wing back

He is. Constantly going forward, it looks like he's playing left winger rather than a wingback, definitely attack-minded role, he had at least one good cross, fights for the ball, looks quick and generally ok, he should do well in Poland.

Can't watch that but really interested in seeing the game later and seeing how Italiano has turned la viola from fodder into what looks like a decent side.

It’s been a really decent match, lots of attacking play and plenty of incident.

With his goal against RasenBallsport Leipzig, Robert Lewandowski has now scored in 17 consecutive competitive games for Bayern (a total of 27 goals). This is a new record in German professional football, previously held by Gerd Müller who scored in 16 consecutive games in the 1969-70 season.

All of Gerd‘s games were Bundesliga games so he still holds the „Bundesliga only“ record of 16 matches.

To break that one, Lewandowski would need to score in his next 3 Bundesliga games (against Bochum, Fürth and Eintracht, so he may well fancy himself there) since his current 17 game streak includes 14 Bundesliga matches and three non-Bundesliga ties.

For anyone who didn’t see it last weekend, here is the aftermath of Dortmund‘s Erling Haaland scoring against Leverkusen; the fans of Die Werkself didn’t appreciate his celebration and threw Bier at him; watch Jude Bellingham catch one and take a crafty swig:

Watching Bayern - Bochum, Robert Lewandowski vs Robert Tesche. After 15 minutes Polish pundits were waxing lyrical about Bochum playing so well and even looking dangerous and they were complaining about the way Bayern were playing.
After next 15 minutes it was 3-0 already for Bayern Both Roberts aren't playing very well, to be honest.
It's 4-0 now after comical own goal, Bayern look like they are playing a friendly.

It’s now Six-Nil to Bayern, Robert Lewandowski has got his goal so he’s been tactically subbed to save him for next week.

He just needs two goals now in the next two Bundesliga matches to break Gerd Müller‘s consecutive Bundesliga record.

Köln gegen Leipzig - 95 minutes of extreme intensity, one of those matches you just don't want to end, just incredible. End to end stuff, both teams playing to win 'til the very end, Köln's Duda missing from 2 meters in 94th minute, exactly that kind of match that makes football the most beautiful game.

Jeeezus! It's time like these when the grassroots kids footy rules should be applied and the losing side should be able to chuck a couple of extra players on.

More shabby behaviour from France; according to L‘Equipe, a Lille OSC supporter is to be prosecuted, because during the trouble with supporters at the recent match between LOSC and Lens, he ran over to the Lens grandstand and started masturbating in front of their fans.

(In French, but you’ll get the idea).

Unfortunately for him, he was caught on camera, and the Gendarmes are prepared to make an arrest and run him in.

Looking at Juventus's shocking Serie A start so far without Cristiano Ronaldo, it only goes to further serve just what a great player he is and what a difference he makes to a team.

Juventus have not really sold anyone else of note after finishing 4th last season and also brought in Manuel Locatelli after his impressive European Championship performance.

They should be doing better but maybe it's a Ronaldo hangover for them. Allegri is a very good manager, too.

    It really isn't.

For one, Manu Locatelli isn't actually that good.

Ronaldo spent most of last year sulking and could be described as what we'd call in the playground as a goal hanger. Juve do however lack someone to put the ball away but most of their woes come from a dodgy centre midfield and Max Allegri being far too passive out of possession. A problem they tried to address recently against Milan (but Tonali handed Manu his arse on a piatto) I don't think Allegri has settled on a way of playing with this group yet.

Europe‘s most entertaining league tonight features newly-promoted Greuther Fürth at home to FC Bayern; a Bavarian derby, and Die Kleeblätter, who have conceded 13 goals already in five league matches, will not relish facing Bayern, who warmed themselves up last weekend by thrashing VfL Bochum, 7-0, with six different men getting on the scoresheet.

Robert Lewandowski again was prominent, he’s already on seven goals for the season, alongside Dortmund‘s Erling Haaland - the Race for the Golden Boot this season will be interesting.

Fürth will have their work cut out to get anything from this match.

Game of the weekend is undoubtedly Saturday evening, when Borussia Mönchengladbach host Borussia Dortmund at Borussia-Park. Matches between Die Fohlen and Die Schwarzgelb are always entertaining affairs, and this one will see Dortmund coach Marco Rose return to his old side.

    Expect goals!
