I know I'm not a chick or food, but why would you hum for food?

Surely you'd hum for a person in order to get them to give you food? And if that's correct, but you'd only do that for a laydee, then you had it covered when you said 'I only hum for chicks'.

And if it's correct for either sex, you would hum for me if I offered you some food in exchange.

Struggling to remember what was this year and what wasn't but

James Arthur - Brought my mum tickets for Christmas, as she's a fan so kind of had to go with her, but he was actually fairly good.

The Enemy - Tiny little venue at Exeter Uni, close enough to reach out and touch them. I don't really understand how they didn't stay big, as they are an excellent live band.

Kasabian - Fantastic as always. The Oasis of this generation, brilliant gig, but even better at...

Glastonbury - Arcade Fire, Metallica, Kasabian, Dolly, Jack White, Blondie, Kaiser Chiefs, Lana Del Rey, The Subways and a whole host of others.

MTV Crashes Plymouth - Yes MTV chose little old Plymouth to host there annual gig this year. Headlined by the Kaiser Chiefs (Brilliant) and also featuring Example (Turd really, but can get a crowd going to give him his dues), the 1975 (Fairly bland, but fun enough) and Kiezer (she was alright in the sunshine), all on Plymouth Hoe. Why they don't have more gigs there, I'll never know, the setting is just awesome, right on the seafront. Videos below to give you an idea of the place

Vera Lynn at the White Cliffs gig.
For a 96 year old she really gets down with it.
Especially the funk, the whole funk, nothing but the funk.

Do you go down to Gold Teeth or that new place up in the Lace Market much? I remember they had Big Daddy Kane not long ago

Not really as I don't live in Nottingham and I only hear about the gigs through a mate who follows anything and everything that's happening hop wise

Went to the Bodega (The Social) last night to see Pulled Apart By Horses. It was sold out and absolutely packed. Massive mosh pit at the front and two of the band crowdsurfed whilst still singing/playing guitar. All highly entertaining! They're about to release their 3rd album, but their best track is still 2009's "I punched a lion in the throat"

The 1st support band a local band called 'Deaf Bridges'. Pun-based names are always a winner in my book!

Relived my 1980's youth the other night watching Saxon at Rock City, who were on fine form.
Probably the best thing to have ever come out of Barnsley.

Oh, and Rock City is still the best venue in the country to get up close to a live band. I love the place.

Next week of to see Mariachi El Bronx at Bodega which should be a good laugh.

Not been to see anyone this year so far.

    Got these upcoming though:

NME Awards Tour; Jungle; Halestorm; Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds; Royal Blood; Dorje; Lucy Rose and Indiana.

Got the feeling I'm missing someone though.

I saw 2 Colombian girls in mini skirts singing salsa songs the other week, that is all I have seen.

The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin I keep sliding off to the side and the Devil makes good use of these hands of mine

    J Spaceman (the real Spaceman).

I went to see Gary Glitter at the old Nottm Palais, in the early seventies.

Going to see Public Service Broadcasting (supported by the Kaiser Chiefs) at the Arena on Saturday.

Then in a couple of weeks I'm seeing Gruff Rhys and The Decemberists in the space of a week - my two favourite artists of the last decade or so, can't wait.

Got confused for a second but see what you did there.

Still angry with myself for not getting my arse in gear quick enough to get tickets for one of the two shows they're doing at the Space Centre in Leicester, given what the new album is about.

    Can heartily recommend APF

Only been to local artists in pubs so far this year - doing that tonight too. If you spot Paige Seabridge or Sam Jones playing locally get yersen's down.

March is when the gigging starts in earnest - seeing the Levellers in Buxton and taking in a few stops on the Ferocious Dog tour including sold out gigs at Bodega and in Derby, with the bonus of the amazing Gaz Brookfield supporting in Nottingham

    Good selection there.

Aussie Floyd are a truly brilliant tribute act.
Me and the Mrs have tickets for their show on 6th March at the Bournemouth International Centre.
I even postponed my knee replacement op by a week so as to be able to get to this gig.
Didn't see them last year as I applied for tickets too late.
They are generally sold out pretty damn quickly.
Taking my Canon this year; trying to get some decent photos.
