Does anyone know when he will be back & available for selection again? If we can get him back asap, it will certainly soften the blow of loosing Hobbs. I can just about take Collins or Halford filling in for a few more games at most. But not for the duration of the season.
Personally think a Lascelles & Wilson partnership will be immense even better than the Hobbs partnership.
I do agree a striker who will score us goals is needed to the challenge the top 2 (praying on that being Djebbour) but equally a sustained period playing without Hobbs or Wilson partnering the young Lascelles could just be as costly to our top 2 chances.
I doubt we'll see much of him for the rest of the season, to be honest. He'll be so behind in terms of fitness that it will take a couple more months to get him back up to speed.
I think Collins and halfoed have done alright when asked to deputise, its not the big worry that everyone seems to make out. I also think we well see Hobbs again this season, for me we need to get a striker (this Algerian chap might be the ticket for that) protect Reid and lansbury and teach abdoun about positioning and work rate and we're set.
Collins is a league 2 defender
A woeful player
He's not Lg 2 as you know. He's an adequate 2nd string CB for us.
I hope your all right but but the best teams have solid, reliable centre backs. I really do hope I eat my words but playing Collins at CB for the rest of the season I think will prove costly. IMHO
Hobbs & Wilson was the dream team. Shame we didn't get to see more of them.
Agreed
Hobbs & Wilson were brilliant.
Lascelles & Hobbs were brilliant.
Lascelles & Collins I'm not sure.
We need Lascelles & Wilson even if it means rushing Kelvin abit
We won't get promoted with Danny Collins.... Unless he's in the stands or on the bench
I'm also disappointed with losing Hobbs (or so it seems) but IF Wilson can come back relatively soon then I think young Lascelles and Wilson would do a great job.
Personally don't think Collins is that bad, not my first choice CB but I think I'd prefer him as a regular CB than Halford. As much as I like Halford, he doesn't half worry me when he plays CB
man he's been gone forever(feels like it). i thought he had some sort of slight problem with his back and would be gone for a few weeks and poof he is probably gone like cohen
I think Lascelles and Halford could work pretty well
Watford
Hobbs thing is a ruse by Hull to stop forest running the clock out on the Wigan and reading bids. It may yet still happen. I hope it does as Hobbs has been immense. Would prefer Hobbs to Wes. Hobbs, Lasceilles and Wilson a cut above Halford & Collins. With Wilson injury prone we need 3 at top level to keep our top 4 defensive pedigree going.
Didn't Wilson have a back injury when he was on his way out of forest too? Yet he was almost ever present in Scotland. Comes back here to his hometown and it flares up again. How unfortunate.
He slipped into a cup of tea and fell apart.
what KW does when he needs a pee
I saw him waiting for a train in Manchester just before Christmas and at the time he said he was hoping for the end of January. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later
Reading the piece in the Forest program about Kelvin, it sounded as if he's months away from a return rather than weeks. We probably won't see him again this season.
It's a little fitting that a genuine back injury keeps him out of a Billy Davies playoff run in, in all honesty.
He will be back in a couple weeks. He's back running and said he feels sharp, so he should be back soon.
He's signed a pre contract with Kilmarnock
Regarding who would be the best combination with Wilson injured surely when Chester is fit again in 6 weeks Hobbs can return to us as he is not preferred by Hull on a permanant basis.
