    And why shouldn’t they indeed?

I’d hope, given their ownership, that other clubs consider some unofficial blackballing and stick a couple of zeroes on the prices when Newcastle come calling.

Yep. There are teams in League One that would probably be capable of scraping a few draws and pulling off the odd shock win to be able to finish on more than 11 points. Every year a team starts shit and people say "this will be the year when Derby's record is beaten!" but it never comes close to happening. It takes an extraordinary level of shitness to be as bad as that Derby team.

I'd have had my doubts about Norwich breaking it under Farke but the will be absolutely fine and will go on to get 20+ plus under Smith.

The Geordies will stutter over the 11 point mark fairly easily as well as long as it isn't much more after that

Aye it was Sheff Utd going to do it last year apparently but people forget you can lose 32 games out of 38 and still top 11 points with 3 wins and 3 draws.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

Newcastle play Burnley at the weekend so one or both will be closing in on the 11 point mark, in fact a Burnley win would push them past it to twelve

Yep it’ll be put to bed for another year by Xmas the big question is will Derby reach 11 points this season or will we have to create a similar watch for the championship? Can’t see them getting 11 so the 8 point watch (championship) has a nice ring to it, lower would be even better lol

For me though it will only be a technicality that gives them the worst Championship record if they do as they are likely to have earned more than Rotherham's total of 23 points in 2016-17 given without the deductions they have earned 22 points on the pitch so far.

Technicality Schmechnicality. The table doesn't lie, and that says 1 point from 20 matches so far.

Yeah, regardless of how they get that points total, that's their points total for the season.

We wouldn't look at a team's points total and say "yeah but the ref should have given a goal which he didn't, so they should have more points". Similarly, if the footballing laws have made a decision regards points direct, that's still an end result effected by the laws of the game.

Derby are gonna be the worst Championship team in history, relegated for years, and the fans I know who support them are gonna get a plethora of piss-taking off me daily

    Rooooooneeeeyyy!!!

Think of it more like the EFL are taking back a few points that Derby have falsely won over the last few years. If they hadn't cheated and behaved in a consistently dishonest and underhand way, they might not have won those extra 21 points. Now Derby have to face the consequences of their actions, like we did when we sold Jenas and Reid to counter the finance issues in the wake of ITV Digital collapsing.
In our case, it wasn't really our fault but we took it on the chin.
In Derby's case, it's nobody's fault except the cheating owner, and they're still trying to blame anyone else instead of taking accountability of their nefarious actions.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?
