Commiserations to Notts. Saying that, Hornchurch were always going to be a tough cookie to crack to get to the final

This game was a potential banana skin for Hornchurch, so they will be relieved to have avoided being on the receiving end of a giant killing. At least plucky Notts had a go I guess, to be fair they did well to make it to the semi final having to play tough games against the likes of the Red Lion, Dog & Duck and Kimberley Miners Welfare.

The scorer of Hornchurch's first goal is called Louie Spence.

Imagine losing a game to an ITV drama series.

They are just jealous because of our references in Line of Duty so are trying to go one better

The Magpies were beaten on penalties after new head coach Ian Burchnall saw his team pegged
This was an unfortunate word to end on before moving to a new line.

I wonder if Notts fans still think of Alan Hardy.... and his "Championship in 5 years" plan.

File it in the same draw as Fawaz's "3rd star" plan.

We may take the piss but just a reminder that Nottingham Forest are currently in year 14 of their 5 year plan to get us back into the Premier League and then Europe.

I agree, but sometimes schadenfreude is all you have supporting Forest!

I think they are in the mire now in that league if you don't bounce straight back up you may end up down there for a long time - Ask Chesterfield who are now in their 4th (or 5th?) season down there with no real end in sight to getting back up.

Next season it'll be their 3rd season down there if they don't go up this season. They are already stuck down there, it'll only get more competitive with the clubs down there.

1 auto spot really is brutal especially considering the teams in that division at the minute.

The longer they are stuck down there, the more difficult it will be for them financially too, even more so when you factor in COVID19.

It will be years before they're back in the football league IMO.

Quick turnaround for Maurice Ross, who’s just been sacked.

They've been flying since sacking Ardley. Daft decision that looked at the time, and even more so now. Play-offs slipping away.

A bit random sacking the assistant manager. Though if they don't pick up soon and miss out on the playoffs I think that Burchnall bloke will follow soon.

He's made a statement that he made an "ill judged" comment to a member of the playing staff that led to his departure.

Depends who you replaced him with. The new guys seems like a moron.

Ardley would have finished on play-offs. It's ok thinking that is not enough, but the conference is very difficult to get out of. With one automatic spot, it only takes one club with everything in order to get away at the top and then that's gone. There's no margin for error. Setting your goals at winning at top three in League Two might be ok, but expecting to win the league is setting up for years of failure. This year Gary Johnson is managing Torquay, he's like a non-league Warnock, or Bassett. The automatic spot has gone.

A bit like a team trying to score the perfect goal. Just got to get the job done. They might never challenge for automatic promotion, doesn't really matter.

Lots of professional ex-league clubs have found it hard getting out of that league, and when they do it's through the play-offs. When County eventually get out if that league there's a good chance it'll be through the play-offs too. They were in the play off positions two months before the end of the season and it wasn't good enough for them.
