Default 'Left Brian' | end of season column

Morning. Here's Mr Crouch's final say on the matter if you have a spare 5...

Left Brian May sounds like it was going to be an article about Queen's guitarist retiring

A decent read, think Darlow deserves a chance after what he has done, don't agree with everything but that's what football is for, good work.

As always, I enjoyed reading Rich's article.

We really do have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

A decent read as ever and for me, an accurate reflection of the season.

One wonders though what might have been had Fawaz brought in Billy Davies after Boxing Day, instead of McLeish!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

I don't think it would have worked if he had followed sod, chris. The fans were generally not too happy about the manner of sod's sacking and Davies coming back at that point would have split the club's fans I think. After a few weeks of Mcleish and the shambles of the transfer window and the lack of wins nearly everyone instantly got behind billy and the club which I think had a lot to do with the run we went on.

Another excellent piece Rich. Very true how a few results can get folk back on-side, myself as guilty as any of that.

This bit gave me a chuckle......

While the efforts of Cotterill failed, his efforts at Portsmouth ensured their 10-point deduction kept us up.

Great article - I think a worthy reminder to those who say Fawaz has no money point to the comment about seeing documentation. Lets say Rich knows more than Mark Arthur!
