Lancs 210/8, Notts heading to the top of the table.

The Lancashire tail-end is really taking it to Notts now. Notts really do need to break this 9th-wicket partnership!

Finally broke it following a 108-run stand, before completing the win.

I've been watch the game on YouTube Frank, I was getting a bit nervous before the last two wickets fell.

England may be masters of throwing it away, but at least Nottinghamshire have shown a bit of spirit of late.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Like the way Notts have backed youngsters this season, who generally are local lads. This is a change of direction as previous were criticised for hoovering up other teams players with little of their own development.

In Peter Moores they have an excellent coach who can develop players. It's taken a while but it looks like patience may be starting to bear fruit.

Nottinghamshire really make the most of social media too, to reach out to new fans.

There’s loads of banter and players with their own entertaining hashtags and suchlike, but you’ve got to get the next generation of supporters involved.

That's a good point Chris, although it'll be an almighty task persuading the younger generation of fans to appreciate red-ball cricket as much as the very-short popcorn version of the game.

    That's a shame.

I think India would have won that game too, they are better than England.

IPL would have a lot to do with this me thinks as it starts in 10 days time cannot help but think India cricket board did not want to risk any players getting Covid given how much the IPL is worth to them.

They have now amended that ECB statement and taken forfeit out of it so the final result is now unclear.

Wonder if Hameed will get to play for Notts final 2 (3?) games of the season now.

His replacement, Sam Northeast, is doing OK, but Slater isn't in form at the mo.

2 games left - don't think Hameed has any kind of contract with the ECB but they may want to wrap him in cotton wool for the Australia trip. A shame he didn't get another chance to perform with England.

Defeat for Notts yesterday moves them off the top of the table and down to 4th, with 1 match to play, but only 6.5 points behind new leaders Hampshire. Warwickshire and Lancashire are 2nd and 3rd. In the final games, Lancashire play Hampshire, Warwickshire play Somerset and Notts play Yorkshire.

Still pissed off that India's players used Covid as an excuse to cry of from the last test so that they didn't jeopardise their participation in tbe IPL

Massive kick in the teeth to the thousands of Indian fans that support them in this country

One of the few times I've agreed entirely with Michael Vaughan

It's all about the money and it stinks

Actually Eddie, that's not the real reason.

They'd heard we'd had enough and were thinking about coming out of retirement to take them on and they didn't fancy being humiliated by a couple of 'oldies but goodies' so bailed out.
