Giving way to people crossing at junctions was already in the HC. I was failed for reversing when someone was crossing a junction despite the fact that they were across the junction before I reached it.
Yes it's a stupid thing for them to do. I didn't realise that you was going straight across the junction. As a driver though you have a responsibility to be aware of other road users and react to their actions, including the idiots
Yes. Brave, or foolish, twats too.
It's absolute madness down there, with people suddenly appearing from between parked cars to cross roads, multi-lane roads with signs swinging you you from one lane to another as you travel along it and cyclists weaving in and out passing on the left or right as their whim takes them and at times one passing one side and another the other. It was chaos.
The A11 was a road I particlarly hated. There seemed to be signs about every 10 yards and you seemed to get swung left and right across the three lanes. It probably isn't too bad if you do it daily but when you did it a couple of times a year like me it seemed like a lunatic had set the road up.
Try driving a lorry down there.... its like a game of frogger
Had a word with two of my neighbours,
the first though it’s acceptable to hammer and saw outside at 10-45pm ( trying to saw quietly is like trying to open crisps at the cinema) just saw already and get it done,
the other blamed me for having my window open while him and his stink pig wife with friends made unbearable attempts outside to enter the Eurovision Song Contest into the early hours, this isn’t the first time it’s most weekends, as the captain in cool hand luck said “what we have here is a failure to communicate” …… well what he wants he gets
Stink pig wife
I've just......finished my 2nd pint in EMA. Rhodes, brace yourself.
"Ive only met Andy....last week actually and can confirm he is in 2nd place in sexiest fucker on here stakes." -Barry
This is Andy you’re talking about.
Mr. „Any Hole‘s A Goal“ himself.
„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”
— Joe Strummer
I've just come out even - as I popped my head over the fence and told the noisy little spotty 15 sods out the back to turn their music down was feeling good until I realised I'd shouted at them to "turn it down for fuck's sake, it's not a bloody disco....."
Still it worked all the same
As I said to Andy, wherever you are on the island, make time to visit Rhodes Town, it is fantastic, and you can lose yourself wandering about for a couple of hours before stumbling upon a secluded beer garden that serves extraordinarily cold Greek beer.
Oh, and if you order a „large“ beer, you’ll get this bad boy, which is four pints in a glass shaped like a boot (it is representing the feet of the Colossus of Rhodes, all that is left of that famous statue):
It wouldn’t be a proper holiday without spending a few hours walking miles and taking in a bit of culture would it? It’s a bit tougher now with two little ones but we do try and make time for a bit of exploring. We’re staying in Faliraki so not too far from Rhodes Town.
Can someone give me a sensible solution to my broadband issue (sky fibre super dopa most bestest ) Kees dropping out I’ve tried shouting at it , I've turned it on and off etc…..
seems as if this time of day it’s poor ?, there’s only me left in Sunderland so it can’t be overloaded ?
Go to Lindos, it's lovely but don't stay as its expensive. If you've rented a car get down to Prasonisi beach, kids will love it. Go to Epta Piges and go through the tunnel, also check out the butterfly valley with the kids. Pefki is decent night out, lots of family restaurants and bars.
Also, go to Kostas and Elenas in Charaki. Go about 6/7, see the sky change colour over the bay, while eating amazing food but spending very little, the whole team (mum & dad cook and their offspring serve) are amazing.
I've loved this break so far, we're off to Rhodes Town tomorrow. The only problems I've encountered are entitled tourists from Essex (doubt I'll be doing 5 star again due to the customers), not doing Greek Islands earlier and the flight's quite long.
