Why is that Rich? It seems the players are in peoples bad books for not donating (Yours included).... I just don't think it is fair to tar players with that brush....
That is hardly helpful at the moment especially with regards what players may have been told what to do by the club.... Unnecessary pressure, And there is no need for it....Good lad is Nathan, shame some of his ex-team mates don't follow suit
Elmo wasn't talking about them putting their hands in their pockets that's a very personal decision. The way I read it he was saying he was a little disappointed Nathan Tyson had re-tweeted to raise awareness of the appeal but non of the playing staff had.
Not about donations the funds at a very respectable amount already its just about spreading the word in case anyone else want's to remember this way.
For what its worth when something official is announced I'm thinking of organising something to support that (probably something along the lines of the Hadrians Wall Walk I did the other year) but in the mean time no harms being done by raising money for Charity
I'm surprised at the lack of donations from the players, to be honest.
Talk to me, Goose.
Just seems that some of the higher paid players are the ones one Twitter more, and are talking about their cars, music and other inane things. I appreciate life moves on, but some of the players have come out of this showing little decorum.
The unnecessary bit was more about the way your post seemed to get irate with Hockley for raising the money.
Oh i agree with current players and the talk of mundane materialistic things, However they really do need to be given the chance to donate regards Doughty as they see fit.... I am sure that Forest will have a collection for Doughty and it will be given to the charity that Doughty's family see fit. Until then I really don't think they deserve the pressure/public humiliation of not having donated....
Apologies If my post seemed to show me getting irate to Hockley. Not my intention and he deserves respect for raising what he has. The public posting of which Forest players have/have not donated does put a little dampener on proceedings though...
I see this as an outlet for fans.
The players can do as little or as much as they want. It's up to them. They may support and do other charity things we don't know of.
Let's not criticise people for not contributing, that's almost as bad other forums slagging off the funds establishment.
Fingers crossed mate - with 56k followers you'd like to think a few of them will see the link and chuck a couple of quid in the pot.
He's re-tweeted at the right time too his account will be busy at the moment with him becoming the mandatory to Bute! The question is will we be drinking in Nottingham or Montreal? (can I kip on your floor again if its Canada)
Right, firstly I must agree that like everyone else it is the players own choice whether they want to give to the cause and I will not criticise anyone that doesn't for whatever reason. However, I do admit to feeling frustrated when people with power to spread the word to their thousands of followers on Twitter and in turn possibly earn more for charity, choose not to pass this info onto others and instead post crap about how cold it is or what they are watching on TV. I'm not asking them to contribute themselves, just to give others to choice to.
I'm not doing this for any personal gratification or trying to out do others in grief, I genuinely felt and still feel that this would be a nice way to honour Mr Doughty and at the same time put some cash in the coffers of a very worthy charity.
The club are aware of the fund and I'm sure I would have heard by now should they feel that this is in anyway offensive to Nigel's family or the club themselves.

It's wrong, you can't say, "May the fifth be with you" it just doesn't sound right.
Shouldn't all this be in the "A Fan's Tribute Thread" rather cluttering up than the "RIP Nigel Doughty" thread
LTLF cannot keep a thread on track. It's the law.
Probably my bad but in my defence your honour it was already off course before I got here
For sure mate provided I'm not tied up at work I'll be there, honorary Team Froch member now(off to the Saxon shop when I get back to Nottingham to give Nigel the AC photos -(if he's there this time) and get some gear while I'm there)
Alastair Campbell @campbellclaret just tweeted
Beautiful but very sad funeral service for Nigel Doughty at Farm St Church
Anyone wanting to sign the book of condolence the club have set up pop into main reception until 12. After 12 the books will be in the study support centre until kick off
