I pondered that, I imagine that would get clogged up too - it's the nature of the forum ... what do people think?

It depends if one of the mods is willing to give the time to initially give this thread a clean up, then to moderate the 'condolence' thread. If so then I think it's a decent idea.

What's the point, are we going to present it to the family?

If not then leave it as it is.

So people can easily find it if they want to post.

I'd considered that, the only pitfall is once we start pruning threads then we are open to accusations of over-zealous moderating (obviously any highly inappropriate things would be dealt with).

This thread's likely to remain in and around the top of the board for a while yet - perhaps we could consider keeping it sticky after that. Not sure.

I think we should relocate the thread to LTLF Gold once the posting has stopped.

We can always split the thread to move some of the posts to a new thread

I agree I think it's more than worthy to go in there

Got retweets also, from the likes of Alistair Campbell, Steven Reid, Pete Colley, Ian Taylor, Trevor(Soccer AM), and a few football agents.

Aimed it at people who either knew Doughty personally, or people who have fans from other clubs that might be in a generous mood. Every little helps.

    Still no donations from players?

Pretty disappointed if that's the case.

    Talk to me, Goose.

I'd hope to see the players and management staff from the top to the bottom of the club, club together and donate something.

    Tyson has just retweeted again.

Good lad is Nathan, shame some of his ex-team mates don't follow suit

Current players might not be allowed to do anything until the club states something, maybe?

Yeah, I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. haha, benefit of the doubt? Maybe they would like to do something off their own backs, Maybe they would sooner wait for the family to make a statement on who they would like to sponsor?

You are making this sound like it is the only way to remember Doughty's name!

It's your idea we get it, But let's not make it out to be the only memory of Doughty eh!

    Seems a touch unnecessary, nffc_1865.
