Ive always liked him as a Player, he's proven that he can play and compete in the Best League in the World, it's actually nice to see him do well and silence his many critics.

    I'm sick of it

I can't recall who it was against, but we lost something like 5-0.

Paradoxically he was the only defender who came out of the match with any credit - the others were rubbish!

He was without a doubt the weak link when he was here. He'd been with the club for very long, and putting below average performances in. He seemed the type of lad, that to get the best out of him, he needed a change of scenary, and with that change of scenary, a good run of games once he'd had his initial settling down period.

He had Suarez and Carroll in his back pocket today. Having said that, if he'd kicked Suarez into Row Z, he'd be worth his £1.5 million and much more. Well played.

They do well when played in the right positions.

There were about 10 different threads for Perchinho. Even one calling him a GRADE A WANKER

But good to see him swimming along and with the new ex-players sub-forum (brilliant idea) we can congratulate him on his Scunny move.

Good old Perchy, I always liked him.

Always tried his best, and a genuinely nice guy as well. Also used to live in my old manor.

    Good luck to him.

    Spot on.

The Mrs and I always thought he came in for a lot of unwarranted stick. He always put the effort in.

It seemed that the boo boys needed a new hate figure once Commons had left.

I remember his starting league debut at a sunny City Ground (pretty sure it was) and he had a very good game that day. Just can't remember who it was against

Got on a goalscoring run in L1 from midfield didn't he.

For me he was another reminder of our descent into the third tier and subsequent years of failure so wasn't too bothered when he left

Just shows what the boo boys know - he went on to bigger and better things in the Premier League, whilst the club he wasn’t apparently good enough to play for continued to wallow in abject mediocrity.

THE TRUTH IS THERE AND WITH IT I GO TO THE END OF THE WORLD .

I think he made his debut on the first game of the season away at Wigan alongside Des Walker, who had retired the season previous, as we were so short on centre-backs.

I remember watching Perchy in a reserve game as a youngster and being impressed with how solid he looked.

Personally, I much preferred him as a midfielder than a defender.

Yep, it was away to Wigan I was there. We got a lucky 1-1 draw I think.

My memory of Perch was him working hard, his second touch being a tackle and him having to make plenty of last ditch sliding tackles because he would often get caught out and be chasing back towards his own goal.

Didn't really ever have a position that he fit in.

Yes, when you mention that I actually remember that.

The game I'm thinking of was the special Clough anniversary West Ham game.

I knew it was early on because I felt nervous for him. Can't believe I forgot.

Always felt Perchy was better through the middle of the pitch. Just a shame he wasn't strong enough to be a centre-back. So midfield for me too.

Perchy has been diagnosed with a fractured skull, and will miss the rest of the season for Mansfield Town:

My Stags supporting friend says they're struggling without him.

Support for the lad, who has fashioned a great career after being laughed out of NFFC. Oh, how we love saying goodbye to our players.

And how they love stuffing our hollow laughter back down our throats.
