Seeing as there was a discussion about ska/ reggae, this is an absolute classic.https://youtu.be/7-NOZU2iPA8

Best version of the song, according to the late Lou Reed himself.

The Trinity Sessions was one of the first albums I bought.

I love the original but fuck this is so good, it could be better...? I think it's at least as good.

Controversial for some maybe but for me much better than Tina T

Good choice Alf, I have flip flopped as to whether this is the best version ever since I first heard it. It is certainly a more modern sound but lacks the harmonic qualities of the original. To be honest I couldn't separate them as to which is the best version. The amazing thing is that even after 50 years the lyrics still resonate.
For comparison her is the original.

Aye, I totally agree mate. I think the original draws me in more, but that crescendo in the modern version is just incredible. Guess it depends on the mood.

And Katharine Ross, ye gads what a lush lady

Maybe not better in the strictest sense of the word but there is something about the singer that I prefer to the short 4rse slaphead Brian Johnson
