Default Good players in the lower leagues?

With us now looking at cheaper players what sort of lower league talent is available? I lost a lot of interest in league 1 after we got promoted and haven't watched a single game this season. Just out of interest, are there any quailty players we could pick up for a bargain price?

I known about Kane Ferdinand and Jamie Vardy who are hot prospects who we could attract. Jordon Rhodes is out of our reach now. Who else is there?

Steve Quinn's been touted as a possible (see the transfer page) - 350k and a McKenna/Evans type player.

Seem him play a few times, typical midfielder that Warnock likes, would be a decent signing in my book.

I think Forest should do what Leeds, Derby, Leics, Ipswich and most other facking clubs have done to us the last few seasons!
Pick a club who we think have a decent scouting system, wait till they do all the groundwork and put a bid in, and then slam a bid of our own in!
    Goodnight Keith Burt!

We should make a move for Cambridge United's Michael Gash. No idea if he's any good, but it's a great name for a footballer. he also has a great name on Twitter.

In League One, Dean Cox has been Leyton Orient's best player for two seasons. Small winger who has an eye for goal and Orient don't have the cash to say no to decent offers. Sold Charlie Daniels to Bournemouth for a 'small' six-figure fee despite him being their best defender.

If Chris Gunter went anywhere, Jack Hunt at Huddersfield is definitely worth a look as well.

Lower down, Billy Kee at Burton and Matt Ritchie at Swindon are both excellent players.

Although Bournemouth had a £500,000 bid rejected for Ritchie I believe.

Yeh, but on his Twitter page have you seen what he's got on. Apallingly chavvy.

Oh, and on a serious note, why has nobody higher up the leagues had a punt on Matt Tubbs? He's been banging them home with incredible regularity since he scored for Salisbury against us, yet he plys his trade at Crawley.

When was the last time we bought a "quality" player who was actually any good?

    Earnshaw?

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Kee would be the cheapest because Burton have the 'least' money of the three clubs.

Bournemouth had a £500,000 bid for Ritchie turned down but he's one of the best crossers of the ball in the Football League for me.

Hunt I'm not sure about. This has been his first season in the Huddersfield side after Peltier joined Leicester and he spent last season on loan at Chesterfield in League Two but has been excellent. He's 21 so would be more costly I guess. Closer to a million. Plus, he's a right back and so would only be worth looking at if we sold Gunter.

Nope. I'm dreading the fact that he appears to building some really solid foundations at Direby and has been doing for some time.

Which is really just what he did at Burton and they moved up the divisions and into the football league.

Sometimes the slow approach works; sadly not all fans have such patience.

Me too. I always thought Clough would be a solid manager, I still don't think he has what it takes to be a top class one, but more than anything with FFP and the current financial climate in general Clough has undoubtably become the type of manager clubs outside the Prem are needing.

Maybe we should have give McClaren more time......... - As if

You're right though, certain managers *cough Billy Davies* deserve much more time than they get.
