    Default The fifa 12 thread

    http://www.computerandvideogames.com...ls-next-month/

New gameplay details coming soon. I'll start a thread in the same fashion as the last 2 - bitching and moaning.

I'll put it out there - FIFA 11 was a shambles. A huge piece of shit which made a game of leper volleyball look entertaining.

    My suggestions for this year:

    1) Undo what you did to the gameplay

For FIFA 11 they did something to the gameplay which made it thoroughly annoying and frankly quite boring. Trying to get through the oppositions defence in world class mode was remarkably difficult. I'm not moaning about how bad I am at the game here.

Also, the players seem to have lost all common sense. Case study - I'm bombing down the wing and I need someone to pass to. There's no-one by the side of me, there's no-one infront of me. There's some guy stood directly behind me. I mean what am I supposed to do

The game stays strictly in the centre circle. I was used to a certain gameplay in 09 and 10 but somehow FIFA arsed it all off.

    2) Manager mode is nearly there

FIFA made a huge improvement on manager mode. The calendar was an inspired idea and the interface was a lot more accustomed to the football fan. However, they still need to add some vital features:

Why isn't there a loan window? I'd like a loan window. I probably won't use it that much, but it'd be nice to have the option.

Transfers are still sketchy. After several seasons, the majority of football teams still have the same roster as they did when the first season started. I'd like to see some big money transfers moving AND those transfers going right into the first team.

Promotion/Relegations - This is stupidly boring. Again after several seasons, all I could see was Burnley/WBA/Portsmouth/Hull/Forest etc moving up and down. It's just like all sim'd results are the same all the time. If transfers were radicalised, the results might fluctuate and we might start to see some unpredictability.

In an ideal world, i'd love to see football manager bolted onto a fifa. A man can dream though.

    3) Player mode

Same old issue again, if you're a league two player, you get the world handed to you, meaning you end up in the england team within 2 years. Blah blah blah

    4) Creation Centre

They released this online software and then just ignored it. It was a superb idea but it lacked choice. I would have loved the 'Create a player' feature on the game itself to be implemented into this, but alas, it wasn't.

Has anyone ever used the customisation feature for Sims 2? It was a downloadable piece of software allowing you to do whatever the hell you liked to the character. I'm not sure how the online system would handle this, so I think having offline capability would help out a lot. EA did it for the sims, so I can't see why they couldn't do it for this.

Plus I'd love to make my own badge and add my own strip/sponsors.

I guess that's it for now. To summarise, fifa addressed the shit interface on 10 at the expense of the gameplay.

Agree with the first point. I've had to turn my style of play up to 'risky' just to even vaguely get a midfielder to make a run forward.

Not my experience of the game at all. Are you playing the X-Box version? Presumably you use the Player Run toggles?

The only thing that annoyed me was that you used to be able to design stadiums in Career Mode and I don;t think you can do that anymore...?

    I actually enjoyed FIFA 11.

Thought there were some good additions, though the previous version i have is 08

The one thing that does nark me is that some players seem to have the turning circle of an oil tanker, not sure why.

And why can't we create stadiums any more?

I love FIFA 11, I only play online clubs though.. My team is ranked 20th in the world.

If anyone else enjoys pro clubs then sign up on the fvpa forum where you can arrange games against big teams, sign up to leagues, apply to play for your country, and there's also a recruitment section.

Don't know the exact URL as I'm on my phone so just search 'FVPA Forum' in google or something.

sick to death of the ultimate team section and the fact that it seems to even both sides out regardless of your stats and who you have in your side, for example I have a all silver side with alll forest players in and often play teams with silver and bronze mix, yet there deffenders who are often rated in the the 60s and silly slow still somehow manage to track back and beat earnshaw and tyson to the ball. I dont like the way they have evend out the pace thing on online play either last years game pace was everything and could win you games but this years game there seems to be no difference between the pace of wes morgan and tyson

When could we ever create stadiums?

I've been playing the FIFA series since I was about 5, still got all of them I think apart from 06. I've quite enjoyed FIFA 11 but probably not as much as 10 or 09.. The features on 11 are pretty good though compared to previous versions.

My dream feature for FIFA 12 would be DLC Stadium packs. Example, they could make all of the remaining Premier League stadiums (15 I think) & stick them on PSN/XBLM for a fee of about £10 or something. It'd be nice if they did a Championship pack too..

Yeah, stadium dlc would be a superb idea. Charge 1000 points for say a championship pack and they'd probably make the money back on how much it took to make.

then digest so so you can buy 1 stadium for like 80pts
not gonna pay a tenner just to play at city ground, which would be poorly done, and no1 else online would have it so you wouldnt be able to use it

I think they should make it a bit easier to score..

Might sound stupid but in FIFA 11 there's hardly any way to get around the other teams back 4 apart from going down the wing and getting lucky..

    Or is this just me?!

I played against somebody online the other day and they were amazing, im only level 2..

The finesse shots are ridiculous. If you've got anyone half decent just do a shot from within 30 yards and hold RB.

What does the RB button do? I thought that just made you run fast?!

    Two things,

Why is there never anybody attacking when I am.

Why do the other team always have 10 men behind the ball, making a final ball impossible.

Maybe the AI of the game was modelled on Gary Megson?

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

Really. This kind of thing should just be done via DLC now people. It's getting silly how they put out a similar game with just slightly tweaked mechanics and a new roster. Surely they can do a whole new roster by DLC? And then when there is a complete overhaul to the game mechanics then make a whole new game.

Same too could be said for the management games.

    Here we go again:

    http://www.easports.com/news/item/fi...12pressrelease

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – May 27, 2011 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced that EA SPORTS™ has developed the Player Impact Engine, a new physics engine that will deliver revolutionary changes to the best^ sports videogame on the planet. Two years in development, the new Player Impact Engine inside FIFA Soccer 12 delivers real-world physicality in every interaction on the pitch. It is one of several major innovations for FIFA Soccer 12 that have been inspired by the real-world game and created by the FIFA development team at EA Canada.

“The transformation FIFA Soccer 12 has undergone is revolutionary not evolutionary,” said Kaz Makita, Executive Producer for the FIFA franchise, which has won 136 videogame awards the past three years. “To create the best and most authentic FIFA game ever, we needed new technology to deliver on our vision. Fans will see, and more importantly feel, the significance of the Player Impact Engine immediately.”

The game-changing new Player Impact Engine will drive FIFA Soccer 12 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system. Fans will experience the way real-world players challenge each other for the ball, win possession, and test each other physically. The Impact Engine processes decisions continuously in real-time at every point of contact on a player’s body to create an infinite variety of natural and believable outcomes in every collision. Players now feel more resilient, push and pull during the fight for possession, and recover from light challenges more easily.

Revolutionary gameplay innovations inspired by the real-world sport make FIFA Soccer 12 deeper and more engaging. All-new Precision Dribbling delivers a higher fidelity of touch on the ball for attacking players, while Tactical Defending makes defending as skilful and meaningful as real-world soccer. Plus, players have been infused with Pro Player Intelligence, the next generation of player intelligence and performance, and the new Career Mode delivers real-world storylines that brings enhanced depth and realism to the experience.

All-new Precision Dribbling creates a higher fidelity of touch on the ball for better control in tight spaces, more time to make decisions in attack, and more control over the pace of the game. Innovations in attack are balanced by a re-designed defending mechanism. Defending is now as strategic as attacking with all-new Tactical Defending, which fundamentally changes the approach to defending by placing equal importance on positioning, intercepting passes and tackling

Players on the pitch have been infused with Pro Player Intelligence, a self-awareness and aptitude that enables them to make decisions based on their own skills as well as the strengths and attributes of their teammates. Players who possess exceptional vision, for example, will see opportunities for through balls that other players won’t. Real Madrid’s Kaká will be more likely—and quicker—to pick out a run from a teammate farther away than a player with poorer vision. Additionally, teams will vary their attack based on the strengths of their players on the pitch, and the weaknesses of opposing players, creating a more authentic experience and greater variety of matches.

FIFA Soccer 12 will also deliver an all-new Career Mode, driven by the storylines from the real-world sport. Elements like player morale, on-pitch form and league position will influence outcomes in the game. Users will face more decisions and factors than ever before, with their consequences being played out on the pitch.

Transformed to look and feel fresh and new from pre-match to final whistle, FIFA Soccer 12 delivers an authentic match day experience, faster and easier navigation with a brand new menu system, and more than 500 officially licensed clubs. To pre-order FIFA 12 visit http://www.easportsfootball.com.
For the latest news on FIFA 12 join more than five million fans in the EA SPORTS FIFA community at http://www.facebook.com/easportsfifa or follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/easportsfifa.

FIFA Soccer 12 will be available in stores world-wide this fall for the PlayStation®3, Xbox 360®, Wii™, PC, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo 3DS™, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, iPhone®, iPad™, and iPod® touch. Additional feature details will be revealed in the months ahead.

They need to stop trying to "revolutionise" the gameplay and just fix whatever it is that made 11 so shit.

Saying that though, I'm getting a bit addicted to 11 right now, so I'm looking more forward to 12 as days go by.
