If Peter Whittingham fell over in a forest, and nobody was around, would he make a sound?

    Really can't understand that statement.

Cardiff as a football team or as a city has very little going for it; I have been there several times and whilst not a sthit hole it is at best mediocre. The football team may have aquired some decent loans but to be honest that means jack at this stage, the league will be won by the best team and not by the best collection of individuals.

I fell in love with football as I was later to fall in love with women,. Suddenly, uncritically giving no thought to the pain it could bring. - Nick Hornby

Motherwell have received the balance of the transfer fee due to them from Cardiff City for defender Paul Quinn, who left the Lanarkshire club in 2009.
Boyle's outburst seems to have produced the result he wanted, with Cardiff now having cleared their debt to the Lanarkshire club.

seems pretty clear to me, either way they don't owe the £175k stated

it was a ****hole when I lived there (well near to Cardiff) in the 80's

Definitely not a ****hole, think mediocre sums it up pretty well. There are some scabby bits of course, but some aspects of it are great (much like most other cities I suspect).

I genuinely fear that Cardiff are going to storm the league this season; if they can get just one or two of their big players playing well each match it should be enough to ensure that I dread coming into work every Monday.

    Umm, selective quoting?

The Welsh club paid £100,000 to Motherwell last week as the first instalment of the £175,000 still owed.
Cardiff failed to pay agreed instalments, with £100,000 due in January and £75,000 in the summer.
So they still owe the £75,000. They were late making the payment of the £75,000, but Motherwell have allowed them to pay it even later.

Basically, Cardiff have taken an unauthorised loan at Motherwell's expense.

I think the bellamy effect will turn from good to bad before long. As soon as they lose a couple of games the fans will be on his back and he will get stroppy. Why didn't he travel to pboro last night? Playing L1 league clubs below him? Or do Man city not want him cup tied incase they want him back for the second half of the season?

Not much is below Craig Bellamy, apart from shark ****, snakes' arses and lugworms on the Marianas trench.

From speaking with a Cardiff Club official, I believe that Man City requested, under the terms of the loan agreement, that Cardiff don't pick him for cup games and as a result leave him cup tied.

    I've no idea why though.

All the cards aren't played yet.

Never dread going to work with these people because WE ARE NOTTINGHAM FOREST and however hard they try they can never be that.

Yeah I guess that it's not necessarily a guaranteed season long loan and man c can recall him if they want (and perhaps this is some indication that they're actually planning to?)

I agree; past performance tells us that having Bellamy in your team is like throwing a hand grenade into the changing room!

Seems a little pointless if he's not in their 25 man squad though, as they wouldn't be able to pick him anyway?

Could they sell him to someone else in Jan?

That seems the most likely explanation, but why would they care if he can or can't play for other potential suitors in the cup?

umm, i haven't looked it up but I thought they could change their 25 after the Jan transfer window? Also the squad rule doesn't apply to the cups (not that you'd keep a player just to play in the cups)

Hmm, if it is just the league, then the cup is likely to become even more dvalued, as Premiership sides use it to keep players not in their 25 fit...

Also we could still get Prat and Whit before the window closes. With them both being out of contract next year the Taffs were always going to hang on till the end of the window to try and get the best possible price and the AP are,I suspect playing a dangerous waiting game.
