Seriously, 52 pages on a footballer who has no ability to bring peace to Gaza Strip; couldn't cure AIDS or cancer; absolute clueless on reform the rigged economic system; and based on my knowledge, can't do sh@t to get rid of fake boobs or make Pam Anderson younger.

And this guy is not even considered the top-notch one in his respective working field.

Yet, 52 pages of attention and stalking from strangers all over the places?? Even my own mother at her prime caring period can't provide 2 pages worth love on her own son, a.k.a., ME.

    Life is indeed a bitch.

I am not, but I am pretty sure he arrived at this damn world from some lady's womb too.

I don't think even his mom would spend more than 2 pages length to worry about his future, it's just insane.

So in short, we all become a man's mothers.

Tell her she can use squirrels to illustrate her point. That should get the page count up!

Yet you have contributed most of a page to the thread all on your own. That is irony, now you can go explain the concept to the rest of the USA. lol

Oh, and whilst were on the subject of Americans getting things wrong. Why do you guys say "I could care less"?

It should be "I couldn't care less."

I just picked up the pace after saw so much enthusiasm shared by everyone here.

And you are absolutely correct about me being part of this turmoil. I don't know the answer, I think life in a whole is largely a gigantic piece of irony, nobody can really evade from it.

As for the typo and other grammar mistakes you guys surely already noticed, English is my second language, learning while growing that's all I can say.

    Cheers!

    If he's a yank he's posting at some odd times in the middle of the night (I am in an even more foriegn part this week) but her is the answer to the I could care less thing (which is a phrase used in the north rather than the south);

There’s a close link between the stress pattern of I could care less and the kind that appears in certain sarcastic or self-deprecatory phrases that are associated with the Yiddish heritage and (especially) New York Jewish speech. Perhaps the best known is I should be so lucky!, in which the real sense is often “I have no hope of being so lucky”, a closely similar stress pattern with the same sarcastic inversion of meaning. There’s no evidence to suggest that I could care less came directly from Yiddish, but the similarity is suggestive. There are other American expressions that have a similar sarcastic inversion of apparent sense, such as Tell me about it!, which usually means “Don’t tell me about it, because I know all about it already”. These may come from similar sources.

So it’s actually a very interesting linguistic development. But it is still regarded as slangy, and also has some social class stigma attached. And because it is hard to be sarcastic in writing, it loses its force when put on paper and just ends up looking stupid. In such cases, the older form, while still rather colloquial, at least will communicate your meaning — at least to those who really could care less.

    That's wayyyyy too academic.

Ok, like everyone here, I hope Pete can eventually sign with us and more importantly, bring the long expecting impact to the club in the pitch.

It's just that all the voices and passion, boy, I am very impressed, to an extend my cynical nerves start to tick :d.
