Is it not pretty obvious now that neither Cardiff and Swansea are going to say "OK well let you speak to our player" unless something drastically changes at our end.
Now I know MA has said we cant really meet their asking price as they haven't named one and neither club wants to sell. I've said my piece on why I think MA was bang out of order saying that both players want to come and why it will come back to haunt us.
You can bet your bottom dollar we will end with neither player and will loan someone from Bolton or Wigan, and Whittingham will leave on a free next summer but not to us. I also think Pratley will sign a new contract at Swansea.

I know its a dangerous game but reading into what MA said in the interview regarding having to be patient & not knowing what to offer as an improved bid for both players, it seems we are happy to sit back and hope both players don't sign their contracts at their respective clubs, run them down and join for free next summer.
This won't happen, when was the last time a top player at a club choose to join us on a free?. Bearing in mind other clubs will come in for them

Whittingham is NOT at the city ground today to complete his move to us and have pitch side photos taken etc.
He will NOT be having a medical today, and will NOT be joining us in time to be unveiled as a player on Friday as speculated

It is likely that he will NOT make his debut against Leeds on Sunday. .
