A bit more about the position that Cardiff are in. Given the above I can see why MA came out and said what he did.

surely with Cardiff back in court tomorrow if we made a reasonable offer (i.e the amount they owe) today or tomorrow then they would have to accept?

no, having seen pompey get away with it they are determined to continue borrowing and spending for as long as they have credit

Very clever if you ask me, because now there is a person who is very high up at Forest stating that 2 bids have been given and rejected, rather than just the usual rumour columns..

I also think it was quite clever of Forest to offer £1 million for him, if true. Because albeit a low bid, it was still a bid of a considerable amount that Cardiff turned down. The courts or the FA might use this against Cardiff, and they may therefore be pressurised into accepting a low bid for a player that is probably worth a good couple of million under different circumstances.

Billy and the board are clever people, we are being run by 2 successful businessmen, there are probably a lot of mind games being played at the minute, and I think the comments made by Cardiff and Swanseas board members suggest that they are on the verge of cracking. For example, Huw Jenkins saying we need to get or chequebook out for Pratley, and Dave Jones telling us to either put up or shut up etc..

Like people have said, the season is never won or lost in the first few games.. For all we know, all this could be happening just to wind up and put off Cardiff and Swansea. Who knows, they were 2 of our closest rivals last season
Exactly, the pressure is on Cardiff and Swansea now to accept our offer before the end of August, or they will not be shown any leniency by the people they owe money to come September.

    Very astute move by MA.

This is crazy, this thread was only created less than a month ago and it's nearly got double the views of the Jarvis thread that was created about 3 and a half years ago!

Who wishes we'd just signed George Boyd when we had the chance? And never got involved in this whole Whittingham saga. Me for one.

It looks like we are willing to wait until the last minute to get our man.
I personally think we will end up with a loan signing after the premiership clubs have named their 25 man squads.
