we know full well what'll happen. He'll reject a contract at Cardiff then some better and bigger club than us (ie Blackpool) will offer him more money and he'll go there instead, leaving us with nothing.

I think we should make whoever we sign next read this thread off, to let them know how disappointed we are that they're not Whittingham

Can we de-archive the Neil Danns thread for good measure?

Divide by zero error. Everyone self-implodes.

30/09/2021: It's only 8 points to the play-offs. Doesn't matter if we're 20th having lost three times as many games as we've won so far. I fancy us now that Hughton's gone.

It looks good for us if they are signing more midfielders.

i for one am looking forward to the market closing....this way we dont have to have 50 pages of transfer speculation on one player alone....and we will actually know who we have signed?

    anyone else?

I wouldn't look forward to it too much, as when it does close we'll have 50 pages of 'emergency' loan speculation on one player alone, plus the Cenobites of this world will have 50 threads criticising Doughty/Arthur/Pleat for not getting the playes Billy wanted...

It's a bit like celebrating a boy band splitting up, then realising things are actually worse, due to five godawful solo careers.

The offical line is that he missed training for 'Personal Reasons', which can cover a multitude of sins...

What I don't get is how are Cardiff, who are supposed to be in fairly reasonable amount of debt able to attract the likes of Koumas and Ollifinjana? Yes there loan deals but they still would demand a good chunk of a players wage to be paid.

I don't get it either. They have had their embargo lifted DESPITE not selling any players, showing any evidence of how they are covering the shorfall of money, and during the embargo have actually turned down offers FOR players.

That all smells a little bit ILLEGAL to me...

And it makes one wonder why a club like ours with a load of dosh to spend if you listen to some people. seem to be having trouble getting hardly any f--ker in.

This is abit hypocritical, Cardiff telling us how to run our club. It's bit like being criticised by Robert Mugabe

I think thats what M Arthurs comments were about on Saturday, I think he was trying to highlight the fact that we are interested in the player and have had 2 bids rejected, the way he did it made it public because he knew it would frustrate Cardiff and Swansea and become a big news story. Very clever if you ask me, because now there is a person who is very high up at Forest stating that 2 bids have been given and rejected, rather than just the usual rumour columns..

I also think it was quite clever of Forest to offer £1 million for him, if true. Because albeit a low bid, it was still a bid of a considerable amount that Cardiff turned down. The courts or the FA might use this against Cardiff, and they may therefore be pressurised into accepting a low bid for a player that is probably worth a good couple of million under different circumstances.

Billy and the board are clever people, we are being run by 2 successful businessmen, there are probably a lot of mind games being played at the minute, and I think the comments made by Cardiff and Swanseas board members suggest that they are on the verge of cracking. For example, Huw Jenkins saying we need to get or chequebook out for Pratley, and Dave Jones telling us to either put up or shut up etc..

Like people have said, the season is never won or lost in the first few games.. For all we know, all this could be happening just to wind up and put off Cardiff and Swansea. Who knows, they were 2 of our closest rivals last season
