Before you all slit your wrists check out the title of this thread. Does it seem likely we went back and offered 50% less?

Indeed, but the 1.5m at least came from multiple sources: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/cardiff...1466-26952211/

We happily paid a million for McGoldrick, happily one and a half times more than that for Earnshaw. There's no way we're doing shitty 1 mill bids for Whittingham. These low figures are nought but hearsay ad they've come about due to us snagging a couple of bargains last summer in Ando and Dex.

Default Cardiff turn down Whittingham bid.

Cardiff have turned down a 1m pound bid from Nottingham Forest for winger Peter Whittingham.

Lets not get carried away either, he's had one good year. Albeit, a really good year, but just one nonetheless...

I suspect our chaps know what the're doing and more power to their collective elbow for not being prepared to pay over the odds.

Good headline from a Cardiff site.

    They reckon £3m.

    £1,300,000 + £500,000 is definitely £1,800,000

    It's 1,000,000 + 300,000 (1.3m) + 500,000 = 1.8m

1.35m would have been one million three hundred and fifty thousand.

    1.3 million = 1,300,000
    0.5 million = 500,000

    0.3+0.5 = 0.8
    1+0 = 1

    1 + 0.8 = 1.8 (1,800,000)

    1.3 (1,300,000) + 0.05 (50,000) = 1.35 million or 1,350,000

Saw this in The Sun today. Don't see how Cardiff can be so picky about selling players

We had a 1.5m bid turned down now as of this week have made an improved offer id say 2m rising to 2.5 with add ons.

If this offer is true and who knows what to believe anymore after this pre-season forest of missing a trick.

We all know Cardiff need to clear debts and at some point they will have to, however they could also be looking at further investment into the club, we don't know and if thats the case and they can keep there side together they are potential promotion contenders.

Therefore even if Whittingham was to leave on a free but he helped get them up as we all know thats worth 90mil.

So its all comes down to can Cardiff raise the cash, if so are they prepared to take that gamble? well I would.

Forest really need to force there hand and offer Cardiff a valuation they cant refuse, I would say £2.25 mil.

    Default latest

Apologies for the duff info on Bertrand (I did say this was not from my normal source)

He is a loan target and has been for a while but me assuming the Evening Post knew a deal was happening within 24 hours got me to believe the other source when I should have been more careful

    Won't happen again

Good news is Whittingham is 100% joining us and will be announced soon

That is from my normal source and you can rely on it 100%

The fee may surprise you - higher than all the latest rumours for sure but realistic in my opinion

Bertrand may well still end up with us but don't know when
