I couldn’t get warm here during the day last winter and refused to put the heating on early. Ended up buying a thick military jumper from Army Surplus, £17, best investment ever.

Get yourself a norwegian shirt on underneath it and you'll end up with the windows open.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

Snap. My go too winter warmer is an old USAAF jumper. Told the missus I want to be buried in air force uniform so future archaeologist's will think I was a hero and actually did something with my life. Probably get a statue.

Sod that, I have underfloor heating, I spend my winters in shorts and flip flops and fuck the environment. And as Andy pointed out double win, seaside gets closer and we rid ourselves of fen people.

I spend my winters in shorts and flip-flops, but then, I live in south-western Germany where the climate is rather more temperate than in the U.K.?

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

„Don't forget you're alive. 'Cause sometimes when you walk around the city and you're in a bad mood, you can think, hey, wait a minute, we're alive! We don't know what the next second will bring and what a fantastic thing this is. This can get easily forgotten in the routine of life, and that's something I'm trying to bring to my attention at all times. Don't forget you're alive. We're not dead, you know. This is the greatest thing.”

I’m due a trip to the Surplus so I’ll have a look for one.
Always liked them places, where else can you buy a jumper, wood chisels, camping pegs, RG48 cable and a Polish Army bread bag?

Probably the middle aisle in Aldi

Anchor Surplus in the Cattle Market was always my go-to.

    Some great stuff in there.

Following my motorcycle search issues I've now been banned from Facebook ( I only use Marketplace) and I have no idea why. I had a discussion with someone about a bike they are selling and at no point was I my usual sarcastic self.
Anyway FB now what me to record a video selfie to ' prove I'm a person' before I can try and get back on.

    Bye bye Facebook.

Swapping the boiler system alone won’t achieve jackshit.
Ours was built in 1890, as a pair of 2 up 2 down semidetached cottages that someone in the 1970s put into 1.
The walls are 9 inch brick, with an external render.
The cost of external insulation is unthinkable.
The cost of a heat pump is unthinkable, and without the external insulation I doubt a heat pump would be man enough for the job anyway.
What we would like is for the long talked about commercially viable production of hydrogen, which our combi could run on.
However, with current technologies, electrolysis to separate hydrogen from water in sufficient quantities is not feasible, and requires a lot of electrical input, which in turn presents further stresses on UK generating capacity.

I know what you are saying Capt. People with old old property are in a bit of a financial stalemate, in some cases it would probably be more economical to knock it down and start again especially if you can sell off a bit of land in the process.

I’d like to know how people living in stone cottages with thatched roofs are going to bring their property up to standard by 2025 or whenever it is.

    *Update* I got one! £7.95

Bastards don’t sell RG48 anymore though, all that stuff has been moved to the Nottingham depot.

That's a good point, we don't have anyone left to drive the Mail truck now.

Your palms are holding her neck and thumbs are at her ears regulating the speed of her head as she swallows and then sucks up your machinery. She is topping up your engine oil for the cross-country coming up. Your RPM is hitting a new high. To wait any longer would be to lose prime time... She picks up a Bugatti's momentum. You want her more at a Volkswagen's steady trot. Squeeze the maximum mileage out of your gallon of gas. But she's eating up the road with all cylinders blazing.

They're really good for layering. T-shirt for base, then Norwegian shirt and a woolly jumper on top.

I haven't been there for years. Used to go for clothes for fishing and paintballing.

Is my memory playing tricks or was there a plane in the car park?
