Who I'd take and who will go is a different matter! But you can't really argue with the qualifying team.

Rest of squad is hard to pick. My choices at the moment would be:

Carrick/Milner/Walcott/Joe Cole
Crouch/Bent

Though of course, people like Wright Phillips, Heskey and Beckham will go, probably Ben Foster too even though he's been shocking.

It's a shame we haven't got another top defender who is reliable. Ferdinand seems to be very error prone these days, it's only a matter of time before Kelvin takes over from him! Upson is good, but too much like Terry, same with Dawson. Bridge and Lescott are quite liable to having shockers too, but there's not much better. I like Warnock and Luke Young but Warnock's not ready and Young is 'retired'.

On current form, my first team would be:

Lennon Lampard Barry Gerrard

Rooney Defoe

Gerrard should fear for his place, though as I expect Joe Cole to be on top form by the end of the season.

I'm one player short of the 23 there and I don't know who to choose. I'm inclined to choose a right-sided defender as cover for Johnson, but I'm also inclined to add Darren Bent as a fifth striker.
