LTLF: You The Manager
In an almost blatant rip off of the previous "LTLF: You The Player" I'm considering running an "LTLF: You The Manager" game if of course there is enough interest.
Basically it will work as such...
Using CM01/02 (easy to edit and quick to run) with a fully up to date database each manager will be given a blank team in the fourth tier (League Two or Third Division as it is called on this version of the game). The team will include no staff, no players and an identical chairman as well as identical training facilities, stadium, reputation, bank balance, average attendance etc...
As there will be no players, staff etc... each club will have a bank balance of £50m but it will be up to the chairmen to decide how much is allowed for transfers and wages and so on.
You will be entered into the game as a manager with stats you decide upon yourself using a budget of points. The game will run with no human manager entered into the game but just yourself as a computer generated person. I will put the game in Holiday mode and do updates every now and then tracking the managers progress at his current club and any club he may move onto after being poached or fired.
Each manager will have a current ability of 110 and a potenial ability of 200. The club reputations will be the same as Bradfords currently is in the game as they are the team with the best reputation in the league.

I did two quick trial runs just to see if it works ok with this and everything went ok.
You get a few coaches and pyshio's added by the game at the start but the finances are how they should be and the squads fill up ok. For the first game of the season all teams used a few grey players but by three games in everyone had enough for a full team bench and a few to spare.
On both occasions I signed Michael Tonge and SHJ signed Ndlovu twice.
When I get more people interested I'll start the proper one running. Would really really like 24 (or 23 and leave Notts in!) but I think that's a very big ask. If anyone wants to join but can't be bothered with the stats just fill out the team name and bits such as that and I'll set stats to be random.

I'm trying to reduce the division down to 13 teams so that only the custom teams are in. If I can't I'm going to empty all the other teams and give them some kind of default name with no manager so they have to be hired by the computer and I can then use and in game editor to add anyone else who is interested.
I only started this thread on Tuesday so was going to give it at least until tomorrow to get it going but I've got sod all to do today bar a phone interview for a place everyone in Nottingham will know and dislike so I'll have a session getting as many done as possible and try and start it tonight.

No problem, I did something that made it all go tits up so I've started again now and I'm checking it after each team. I've decided not to do default teams but if anyone does want to join in then later then I'll just edit one of the normal league two teams.

So I think everyone who's replied already is in now so I'm going to start the game and run it up to January and do a first update there as everyone should have a very full squad and league positions will start meaning something. Might even have a manager fired if a disaster start happens.
Also on this version remember there are no transfer windows so players may come and go a lot more often than expected.

Ok, so I'll do a proper update tomorrow with screen shots but we've got to January with no managerial casualties.
One manager has taken his team to the top of the league, another is struggling to get the best out of his players and his team sit in 22nd despite being one of the biggest spenders and having the largest squad.
Both the best player in the league based on average ratings and the leagues top scorer are LTLF manager signings although so is the dirtiest player and one manager has taken three manager of the month awards in consecutive months.
The highest scoring team is an LTLF one whilst the best defence is shared by someone here along with Rotherham. An LTLF manager will need better organisation as they have the leakiest defence in the league shipping 57 goals in 27 games. The worst team disciplinary record also belongs to one of the LTLF gang, their team accumulating 17 bookings and 5 red cards already.
Whilst nobody has been sacked one manager did let his job slip to a very insecure status before picking up enough form to remove his chairmans finger from the trigger.
Em Jay will be delighted with his record signing I'm sure but just a reminder, there are no transfer windows so some signings have not even played for the club they have signed for yet.

Johnny Bravo like all the managers is still with his first club and was one of the first to build up a decent sized squad and started the season well taking an early lead in the league table although did go out of the league cup at the first hurdle losing at home to Blackpool. The team currently sit just in the automatic promotion places in 3rd place. One of the more moderate spenders Bravo has only parted with £4.1m of his chairmans money and only has a weekly wage bill of £50,000 although Paul Dickov takes up £6.75k of that on his own. The squad seems to have been put together for instant success rather than looking forward with an average age pushing 28 years old and including such journeymen as Dickov (37), Ndlovu (36), Warren (35) and Wietecha (35) all of whom are first team regulars although Wietecha has recently handed in a transfer request with Enckelman and Brad Jones being brought in puching him to third choice between the sticks. Danny Graham is currently the highest valued plaer in the squad and it's not hard to see why as the 24 year old is averaging a goal every other game in all competitions and is currently The B&B's most in form player but is eclipsed by Warren for the player of the year so far based on average rating Colin Healy has disappointed more than most and his days at the club are starting to look numbered if the fans get their way. The foundation for The B&B's rise to the promotion places has been mostly down to a water tight defence letting in only 24 goals in 27 league games a feat only matched by Rotherham who have also scored the same amount of goals in 44. Bravo can boast a full international in his team with Peter Enckelman one of only three full internationals managed by LTLF managers.
