Football Manager 09 Network Game

Anyone ever done this before? Interested in trying out but dunno how to go about it - help?

I'd be very interested in doing this aside from the handicap of not having FM09! lol

I'd suggest doing one with CM01/02 for a few reasons.

1. It's free to get online
2. There's no 2D match engine so people get through their games quicker
3. Tactics/Scouting/Buying Players are all a lot simpler again cutting down on time
4. The game processes a lot faster so loading time between actions is reduced
5. You can force players on holiday when they haven't turned up for a scheduled session

Generally it's a lot quicker on all aspects and simpler plus everyone who wants to play has access to it and with an updated database out soon nobody knows who the gems are so we wouldn't all be trying to sign the same 50p strikers from Azerbaijan.

If you'd consider doing this I'd be up for it and would even host it and provide a bit of a how to guide for those who haven't already got it but want to join in showing them how to get the game, install the update, upgrade to the latest patch and link the correct no cd patch.

If you or anyone else is interested in this let me know here and if we can get a few people I'll start a thread in the games section for banter about the game, how to's and advice plus a place to negotiate transfers or make announcements if you're transfer listing a player instead of having to do it through the game menu unless you want to keep the deal secret.

I don't have FM09 so would have to buy it whilst you can download CM01/02 for free

I set up a game with a friend on FM09 yonks ago...actually works quite well. Used a program called hamachi to set up a VPN but I'm not sure if it's necessary.

I would be interested in joining in but...I doubt I'll have that much free time. Depends on how it's arranged as to whether I'll put my name forward or not.
