Stepping out of defence nicely; barring the goal coming from his side and a couple of naive positional moments he looks good so far
Looked good but naive in that moment. One to keep working with.Stepping out of defence nicely; barring the goal coming from his side and a couple of naive positional moments he looks good so far
He's our back up.He’s very good on the ball, but would get him out on loan in the next few days
Needs minutes
I'm sure I posted that very clip a few days ago
Worth posting again even so!I'm sure I posted that very clip a few days ago![]()
I watched him against Donny in the EFL cup last December and he was the standout player. Just shows how much he's progressed. He's our back up.
There was a moment first half where he robbed Almiron and I just thought what a moment fir the lad!
I saw him play full back less than a couple of years ago for the 21's abd wasn't at all convinced. Did not look out of place tonight!
Aside from the hairstyles, there's nothing.. NOTHING in Yes, Minister or Yes, Prime Minister that's dated. Absolutely everything that's happening in UK and wider politics, there's an episode that deals with it! From the Health Service to immigration, government cuts to cronyism, it's all been covered.Worth posting again even so!
Yes Minister / Yes, Prime Minister is up there with Fawlty Towers and Blackadder in terms of British Comedies for me

As Maggie Thatcher said, "if you knew how close it is to how UK politics actually works, you'd stop laughing because it'd stop being funny and would be frightening."
And the deconstruction of "who reads the papers" remains an all time classicAs accurate now as it was back then.
cf Conor Gallagher getting minutes for England when he's actually crap.Naive/inexperienced mistake arguably cost the goal but was OK for the rest of the 60 mins he was on.
Hopefully the main reason behind picking him was to get him a loan move. A bit like how the top clubs mug the likes of us when selling fringe players at massive prices..."He's made first team appearances for us so he must be decent."
Even what, 40 years later Sir Humphrey remains iconic. Nigel Hawthorne was the perfect casting. There was some great writing and casting in that period, Stephen Fry/Lord Melchett, Rick Mayall/Flashheart. Given the shit on TV these days, and that my wife has never seen Yes Minister, Blackadder, Only Fools etc. it's probably time for a revisit.
I've always thought Yes Minister to be very accurate to how the country is run. To a degree Civil Servants run the country in many ways. The radio version is on 4 Extra on a regular basis. There's an episode where Humphrey is responsible for millions being lost in Scotland 30 years previously and the way Hacker takes absolute joy in putting Humphrey through the wringer is top notch writing and actingAnd the deconstruction of "who reads the papers" remains an all time classic
And you can add The Young Ones to that list too, which is still brilliant today.Even what, 40 years later Sir Humphrey remains iconic. Nigel Hawthorne was the perfect casting. The question is, is he a player to count as part of the regular rotation in defence next season? For your famous academy record to hold, you most certainly cannot rely exclusively on Yates.Seems like a very articulate and wise young lad. If he doesn't make it, it won't be down to lack of application.
It just needs a player on the bench though. I'm also not sure how long a player has to have been here to qualify. New Kiwi lad is only just 20 and German Eric is only 18, so would qualify for the academy sides (which I think is u23 so even Elliot would). The question is, is he a player to count as part of the regular rotation in defence next season?
