Many sportsman i.e. Footballers – Cricketers – Golfers etc. have got silly superstitions before a match.
In the past we have heard of the weirdest things that players do before games/matches in order to bring themselves or their teams good luck or even to rid themselves of bad luck.
Lately, I have been asking friends who support Forest if they have any superstitions before a game - I found it amazing the things some folks do.
One friend told me that he once put odd socks on (unintentionally) before a match and Forest went on to win 4 nil, so after 30+ years he still puts odd socks on – on match days.
Another guy I know went to a night match at the CG and when he got home he found his wife had been taken to the hospital where she had given birth. He discovered later that the baby was born at the same time has Forest’s first goal went in - and it's still written on the plastic wrist band they put on the baby at the hospital.
The plastic wrist band still finds its way (on a chain) around his neck every match day – His daughter is now 27 with kids of her own.
I could go on and on about these superstitions some people have told me about but let’s hear about yours.
