After our past dealings with them? They'll be asking for twice that.

I think there is next to zero chance Brentford sell him which is making me delighted we are publicly low balling them.

Forest make £25m bid for Brentford's Wissa

Latest from Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol and Lyall Thomas:

Nottingham Forest have made a £25m bid for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
It is not clear yet what Brentford’s answer is but they want to keep the 27-year-old.
Wolves are continuing to monitor the situation.

No it's over Christmas next year and into January. All thanks to FIFA's club world cup white elephant.
FFS. Who asked for the club world cup?

Though I did find this out:

"However, it appears FIFA rules governing the release of players will mean clubs are within their rights to block players going to either the AFCON or the World Cup later in 2026.

“It is not compulsory to release the same player for more than one “A” representative team final competition per year,” FIFA’s regulations on the status and transfer of players state."

Not sure how happy players would be not being released to AFCON and I'd assume only the teams in the Club world cup would get this advantage offered anyway.

Bit older that the profile we’d usually target. Not a fan of this deal in isolation, however this deal plus a new out and out striker works for me.

Stuart Pearce
I feel like there is next to no chance this deal happens but he’s a good profile as he knows the league and can play up top or out wide.

You have to wonder why we are bidding. Do we know something the media doesn’t? Just like when they knew exactly how much we needed for Johnson, have they already factored in a chunky fee for Toney that may not materialise now and need the money from elsewhere?

Even if we don’t get him, I like the fact we are just casually slinging in bids for their best players. It’s like Marinakis just doesn’t see the likes of Brentford and Bournemouth as on our level, and I’m a big fan of this.

I think he's better than all the players we have been linked with.

I would love him here, if it's possible to do this deal I would be doing it.

He can score all types of goals & can play anywhere along the front 3. I just don't understand why Brentford would sell.
Yes, good player but not one (like the Fulham guy) I expect to get done.

Turns 28 in September, which isn’t old I know, but it’s outside what we’re told is the bracket we’ve been looking at, and as the market seems to be going, it’s a deal where you realistically have little resale value down the line. Much like the line used about Toney.

As I said, in isolation. But Wissa as well a younger CF as the long term replacement for Wood, I like that approach better.
