If Forest lose a match you will come well used to it as the link is posted at any hint of a defeat !
I must admit I'm disappointed Kilburn hasn't been on with any positive comments about what he thinks about the club so far. I have no problem when people can raise positive and negatives from the subject, but when they only appear to critisize I have no interest whatsoever !

Taking things out of time context are a bit futile though.

It's very similar to the not entirely uncommon practice of dredging back through the forum for a post months ago that says something like "We're shit and going to get relegated!" when at the time, that was a perfectly fair observation, and then commenting in the present day saying "Ha ha! You're wrong!"

Now I've never agreed with the Free Forest philosophies even during the bleaker times when investment did appear to be being withheld, but the fact the site appears to have pretty much been wound down, I don't see much prudence in bringing it up now.

Very similar to the Supporters Trust movement that died a death once we got promoted from League One, despite claiming to not be a 'pressure movement' borne of our underachieving.

In fairness to Kilburn, he has his enemies on this forum who still like to pretend that he is still stirring and anti Forest.

They conveniently forget that in the aftermath of the appointment of Billy Davies Kilburn (and SHJ to be fair) made posts of glowing praise for the club employing Davies. Kilburn maintained that it was, in his eyes, a turning point and that the club had finally moved in the right direction. On the back of this, he suspended FOND indefinitely.

I'm not saying you are one, but there are those that don't actually read what he says and just assume it's all anti Doughty/Forest and post themselves accordingly, thus perpetuating a myth.

I have not seen or spoken to Kilburn since last May (and we were both well lubricated! :D), but from that conversation I am certain that he will be as happy as any of us at this summers activities.

I appreciate what your saying and I do remember his praise from the end of the season now. I guess the fustration of before blotted the memories. I wouldn't say he's got enemies at all, just people who would rather hear something new than what we used to hear (which we did when things started to look up)

When he writes he can push very persuasive arguments both for and against factors, I guess there was usually the MA and ND issues that outweighed them.

That site is laughable.

And I don't go for all these niceties about oh well, they're keeping quiet now. Too bloody right, there's nowhere else to go.

The only reasonable thing thing to do would firstly remove that disgraceful rubbish, and secondly to unreservedly acknowledge that their campaign to remove the board was wrong and they are doing a good job for Forest.

Don't forget if these people had their way we may well resemble Leeds rather than what we're doing now, and that's a truly horrible thought.

Get that site down, come out in support of the club and lets put an end to all this talk once and for all.

Silly, silly post.

Why bring it back up?

At the time when that was created, Forest were dire and there was no hope.

The Supporters Trust collapsed because the level of interest from fans was bordering on desperate.

Forest fans are notoriously good at moaning but are never prepared to take their activism beyond a badly-punctuated email.

I personally found the 'Free Forest' movement to be a little hysterical, but they raise some fairly sage points about Forest's nosedives under Doughty's guidance. And, as you rightly say, investment from the chairman hasn't always been as plentiful.

There clearly was hope though wasn't there, given where we are now under the exact same people. I learned long ago that some people weren't blessed with the attribute of reason though.

Forest are shit= board out. Now where's my banana?

That quote if anything offers a fairly big mitigating circumstance for his perceived reluctance to back other managers.

Platt was given money, lots of it, unfortunately he chose to spunk it on shite.

After that board was created we actually saw some investment from the club in the signings of Cohen and Davies and all was well again with Forest fans.

Conspiracy?

We signed Cohen and Davies before that, didn't we? I thought we signed them pretty rapidly aftetr the Yeovil disaster.

I've never liked that site but just choose to avoid it more than moan about it.

From what I did read a while back I remember they seemed to like the phrase "Stop the spin" whilst being blissfully unaware that they were doing the exactly what they didn't want the club to do.

I remember there being a thread on here (or it may have been another forum) which picked out quite a lot of inaccuracies, exagerations and conveniently missing information.

I'd rather the site stayed up as it did have some useful information but as with any Forest website it is all to be taken with a pinch of salt.
