May not be the best moderator on LTLF, but he's...
LTLF Minion
If we could pay on a "You get money if he has a good game for us" basis, so that on average he'd cost us about Thirty quid a week, I still wouldn't give him house room.
I won't say he's shit, because on his day he isn't - clearly he's not happy at Derby, so I'd rather he stay there on his inflated wages and his ever diminishing value
I honestly don't think he'd get in our team at the minute.
Who would you drop to accommodate him?
On the iwngs I currently prefer Anderson, Tyson, McCleary.
There's no way he could dislodge McKenna, Cohen or Majewski in the middle, and his goal return is lower than all 6 (5 if you put Tyson on the wing) of our strikers.
Not just that. He gave the ball away, in his own half, by trying to do fancy tricks, while 2-0 down against your most bitter rivals. That is a shocking mistake to make. And then not to track back, and to stand by and watch as you go 3-0 down just a few seconds later.
What a loser - I'm glad Nigel 's roasting went public.
I agree with Rich too... he wouldn't get into our team at the moment.
I'd rather have Majewski and/or McGugan play the creative midfield role. And we would never drop McKenna for him. And it's pretty obvious Commons can't play an effective role out wide at this level. I'd even rather have Garner in the midfield, at least he is a hard worker.
So yeah, I wouldn't have him back because he's not needed. We've moved on ;D
He is a good player (sometimes) but I am never in favour of old players returning. They have a habit of being shit second time around apart from a few exceptions e.g. Birtles .
Our side is getting more and moer consistent in their performances. Every now and again someone has a stinker, but they are quickly replaced.
We can't afford to have another 'I'll play if I feel like it' kind of player. It would upset the work ethic in place at Forest now.
He does have an ability to produce something magic, but after a few years of frustration with him, I can honestly say I much prefer the hard work, graft and passion exhibited by the current squad.
Can't see him getting a move to a bigger club than Derby, to be honest. Only clubs who will pay money for him are in leagues below us. Perhaps County. Our hatred of him will go down well with their fans.
In all seriousness, I strongly doubt that Kris Commons would ever consider a return to Nottingham Forest, even if Billy was of the opinion that he has something to offer our current squad, which I also strongly doubt.
His fitness continues to be an issue and the view that he can produce a good game every now and again is insufficient evidence to suggest that his contribution would improve our progression within the Championship.
Kris Commons is a good player, no more no less. We can, and have done, and will do better.
