Geoff Thomas
I don't think this name has been mentioned on here before so I will I'll tell you what I know.
A month ago at around the time BD was putting in his potential list of players to the AP he made an audacious call to Walter Smith and asked about the availability of Kenny Miller.
From what I understand Smith has been told that he will not get any transfer funds made available to him by the club, but he was also told that whatever he generates from the selling of his players he can keep and spend on new players.
Reluctantly, he has said that Miller could be one of his first stars out of the door but would like some time to find Millers replacement - "This apparently has now happened" - He has lined up a loan deal to take Michael Owen from United for the whole of next season.
I can't say whether we will get Miller or whether we will try or whether we can afford him but I do know that Walter Smith has kept Billy Davies informed of the situation all along.
Now that he has Michael Owen lined up, I expect Miller to be on his way soon – I personally would like it to be us.
More news that I can tell you about which has rumbled on all summer is about Whittingham - Burnley's offer of £1.75 for the lad was accepted until Burnley proposed payment instalments or a part exchange - Cardiff threw that straight out of the window and wanted the whole amount up front because of their well edited situation.
Forest (so far) are the only club to offer cash in full and have been told they will get their answer within a week but I'm not certain when that was said so I don't know when the week is up.
It seems like Cardiff have held out as long as possible and must now be panicking to get some cash in quickly to pay off some of their debts.
