don't know if anyone has seen this, but on sky sports news it came up with a picture of the city ground and 'the city ground' above it when saying the cities that are going to host it.
does this mean we're not having a new stadium? :pray:
 
Get praying for Russia to get the World Cup. The last one was **** anyway, so they're welcome to it, and we can keep our ground.

I thought the same at one time, I don't care for the city ground much now though.

What would we lose at a new stadum? the atmosphere? the great beer on offer? the delicious food?

I for one would not miss it too much, bring on the new stadium.
 
I want us to stay at the Town Ground - why do we need modern crap like proper pitches and floodlights and electricity and seats and kiosks selling refreshments.
The Town Ground is our spiritual home and any pre-fabricated concrete monstrosity called 'the city ground' is bound to be a souless white elephant.

To you maybe.

To me, walking from the train station over Trent Bridge to be greeted by a magnificent Trent End glimmering against the river is like coming home. Walking along the banks of the Trent towards Gate 21 before the long climb up the stairs and finally emerging with the Brian Clough, Bridgford and Main Stand all in view is epic.

In contrast, we could be walking through a retail park, finally getting to see a flat pack stadium, upon which all stands look the same when you emerge from the concourse.
 
does a new stadium = better atmosphere? Will people choose to sing because we have a new ground or will they sit in silence as they do at the CG?

After visiting the likes of Reading, Derby, Leicester, Middlesbrough, Arsenal, Swansea, Coventry & Cardiff i can honestly say they were all embarassing when it came to making noise.

My opinion on having a new ground has chnaged slightly over the years, i was dead against the move at first but now i'm like if it happens it happens, i'll still go and watch the reds. I just dont think it automatically means the fans will make more noise

utter tripe.

to me it's nothing like coming home, it's more like going to school or going to the tip or going to work.

I do not enjoy the match day experience any more.

Have to agree Robbie - this was made even clearer to me last weekend away at Reading; got in to the Centre of Reading; packed on to a single-decker bus (and I mean packed on) for the 10 minute trip out to the Majdeski stadium; then wandering past B&Q and a large car park to then walk all the way round the ground to find the "away" seats?

Once inside, yes, a nice stadium.

After the match; the reverse; only this time, waiting until nearly 6pm for a bus to turn up to get back to the centre of Reading (and the pub!)

Compare that to the City Ground; a lovely location with plenty of hostelries nearby; a short walk from the centre of town, and that beautiful riverside location!

Let's hope if we do have to move (for the World Cup or otherwise) then the current favoured "Eastside" location is chosen, so that we don't have to venture to an abysmal, out-of-town location (like Gamston, with apologies to any Gamstonites reading this!)

the front of A block is always empty

The stewards seemingly can't tell black from white

Beer is disgusting

food is disgusting

both are overpriced

there is nowhere to smoke

the audio system is awful, I ****ing hate beautiful day

most forest fans are ****ers, myself included.
 
as long as the new ground is not like the Richo i will be satisfied.

That's just because of Arthur and his wonderful policies for our club which have ruined the match day experience and atmosphere not the ground itself.

If we move it will be to a souless bowl and things will be no better. They will probably hike up prices massively in a new ground as well.
 
We should be putting the effort into getting us up to the prem and staying there. Then sorting out a new ground.

If we move grounds, the only thing on your list that will get better is the audio system.

Beer and food will still be crap and probably more expensive. Smoking will still be illegal and the Stewards will be the same.

I'm not against a ground move, especially if it were to be at Eastside, but the City Ground is beautiful and special compared to so many around the country.

it isn't illegal to smoke outside.
 
World Cup or not the lease is not going to be renewed on the ground so we'll be off anyway!
