We don't know why Boly has been preferred ahead of Morato for the season, and whether this is down to any decline in Boly's attributes. But I guess it's a fair assumption to make that if Boly was considered better than Morato by Nuno, he would have been the one coming on and playing instead of him. So whilst I doubt that the Boly of 22/3 or 23/4 would have been embarrassed like that, we don't know that the Boly of 24/5 would not have.

There's a fair argument that if the right offer came in for any of Carmo, Morato and Omo we should sell, but we don't know about Bindon (he's come from League 1, and been loaned back, even if he does play for NZ) and Abbott is still a kid too, but we don't need that number of centre backs in the first team squad really.

Morato has looked solid in the sort of situations that are ideal for a sort of head it and kick it type like him - brought on to defend a crowded box and literally get rid anywhere.

But when the game is a bit more open he's struggled and I'm personally still not convinced by him. I'd be interested to see if either Bindon or Carmo were potential upgrades.

I’m guessing the sticking point will be length of contract - his agent will no doubt be demanding 2 years.

When I saw they wanted Boly to stay longer I was pleased. He is a solid good guy who always gives of his best and if they think he can contribute positively in any way, I'll take that.

Not against that in the slightest. Never lets us down, well respected by teammates and Nuno. Could well have a few games to play in Europe.

Cooper and Nuno have him as part of the senior leadership group (amongst players).

No issues here, probably would cost more to replace him and he's clearly respected around the club. Not to mention that he is still decent cover whom I would expect to get plenty of minutes this season in the ECL. He's arguably above Morato in the pecking order IMO.

Willy Boly becomes latest Nottingham Forest player fined for driving offences

Nottingham Forest’s Premier League defender Willy Boly has become the latest Reds player this year to be fined for a driving offence. The 34-year-old centre back did not appear in person at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court this week to find out his fate.


Magistrates heard how the Ivory Coast international, who played six Premier League matches for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last season, was sent a letter informing him of his offence, committed while he was driving a Land Rover, and the intended prosecution, but he did not respond to it.


As such Boly, of Bramcote, was convicted at an earlier hearing of a single charge of failing to provide information relating to the identification of a driver who was alleged to be guilty of an offence. This week, for that offence, he was fined £660, was ordered to pay £120 prosecution costs and a £264 victim surcharge. He also had his licence endorsed with six penalty points.
