WILL WE SIGN ANYONE?

DON'T KNOW; PROBABLY NOT BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO KEEP IT VERY QUIET UP TILL NOW.

NOT SURE SHOUTING HELPS THOUGH.

no one today..........maybe july

must......not.....bite......lol

It would seem not, I'd much prefer to not sign anyone on the basis that they would only add depth and not further quality. The January transfer window tends to be more important for the struggling teams that are prepared to pay over the odds, where as we already have a quality team in place with plenty of strength and depth. If we aren't able to bring in the level of player(s) that Davies would like then that's fair enough, there's still time for something to happen however.

Wouldn't be too upset about not signing anyone, you can always pick someone up on loan in a couple of weeks time. You're better off doing that and then picking up some real quality in the Summer if promotion has been gained or then signing a young/lower league player if you're still in the Championship.

We (Derby) were in the same position as you in our promotion season and almost screwed it up with signings such as Macken and McEveley.

Takin the pee and rubbin it in somewhat though, Fulham have just signed another LB!! Some german bloke from Leverkusen.

Lets hope he's first choice ahead of Shorey then.

Why is everyone so obsessed with having to sign players? Admittedly I think we maybe should have tried harder to get Shorey but in reality he had a better offer and I dont blame him. Plus he looks like Robert Patrick

It's a 17 year old and he's from Liverpool's academy. Joined them from Dortmund 2 years ago. So he'll be as useful as a coffee cup on the penalty spot.

So why are people fooled in to thinking it's a dead cert that forest are going to get promoted this is what lets us down as fans we always think we are better and have a god given right, pathetic.

It's about strengthening your squad and the depth of it to cover injuries etc etc why do we always assume that certain players are no where near good enough for Forest where as it always seems ok for the Newcastles and West Broms of this world. Nothings ever good enough for us and now we have a board that feels the same way.

Where have we seen a coffee cup playing an active role in the penalty area before?

I'm sure that the majority of fans on here do not think we are guaranteed promotion this year, nor do we believe we have a god given right to be there especially considering our recent past.

I completley agree with strengthening our squad however simply bringing in extra bodies isn't the simple answer to sustaining our push for promotion. We need extra quality rather than extra faces, if we aren't able to bring in that quality at this moment in time then I'd much rather not waste our resources on a player or two that won't make a difference. Whilst we do need a player or two we need the right type of player which is exactly why we went for Shorey, unfortunatley he chose Fulham over us which is no real suprise but I'd much rather try and attract that sort of player than (no offence to the lad) Joel Lynch.
