Will Garner go in January?

matt1982

Jack Burkitt
He's clearly not wanted by Billy, but it seems unlikely he'll be wanted permanently by Huddersfield either after 0 goals in 13 appearances in total thus far. But will anyone else want him? There seems little point in him coming back here, and just sitting in the reserves, but will we have to take a real loss on him? Where does his future lie?

While we're at it, is there anyone else who may move on in Jan? McCleary maybe? Not that our squad is that big anyway to be getting rid of too many. I can't wait til Tyson moves on though

I am waiting to speak to my brother in law who is a town ST holder but I dont think he even starts for them now, I guess will might loan him out again or hope that someone may pay 500k for him but I cant see it

It's a shame, he clearly has talent, but if he couldn't get a game at Huddersfield or score, there must be problems.

Self inflicted between his tabs

If he does come back to Forest and to be honest, I liked him as a player with reservations about one or two bits, but he needs to take a good long look at Lewis McGugan and his present form, maybe the penny will drop, or maybe there is not a great deal there to soak anything up.

Always struck me as a red card waiting to happen every game.

Give him a chance I say. If he's got something about him he will take it with both hands.

Shame. He clearly has talent in abundance.

If we don't give him a chance, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to Carlisle

joe 'my southampton goal' garner, he's just not good enough. What a waste of money though, 1.2 million and we'd be lucky to get £120,000 now :(

His goal ratio when played up front for forest is pretty good. Hes never had a chance really.

I hope he comes back, we could do with another striker.

I like him and if he started week in week out he'd be good for a good 12-15 goals in this league. When he plays up front he has scored a few goals for us. Never given a chance, what a waste of money

He is a great player, but his attitude went over the top sometimes. If he didn't get his own way on the field you could see him getting frustrated and would lash out. We can't afford that to happen.

It will be interesting to see what happens with him

That seems a bit much, he's a long way of greatness, surely :)

I hope we can work something out and get something out of him for what he cost. The lad needs to sort his swede out, maybe Billy can talk some sense into him when he gets back to Nottingham.

I'll take him back quick as a heart beat!

When Earnshaw was injured Garner would have been ideal to come in as a replacement.

He is better than Adebola, Tyson and McGoldrick - just because he struggles to get on with BD doesn't mean he is not good enough! At least he wants to play, is not happy at being on the bench and will let BD know about it (Is this not the same as what BD does to ND regarding transfers?)

I never lost faith in McGugan, and all my posts through the last year+ have always said he should be given another chance - and now is arguably our best player (atm). Same with Garner, get him fit and give him a few games, he will score goals and we can only hope that he sorts his problems with BD along the way.

Its OK we have McGoldrick to chip in with his 2 or 3 goals a season.

Valid point, but on his day he really is excellent. It's just a shame he hasn't had the option to show this.

I do wonder if anything did happen between him and BD pre-season

Iteresting he says of the other loanee ...

"I have got a lot of time for Lee but he has got to decide if the fire's still burning in his belly. Is the desire still there?"

Nothing of the sort is said of Garner. So clearly he f***ing hates him ... lol

Well, maybe that strong, but it doesn't seem good.

Wise words mate!! I still rate Garner and feel he has more to offer. He has the tenacity and hunger for goals and if he comes back maybe it'll be his time to shine. With Earnshaw still not firing on all cylinders the competition is there for the taking and hopefully we'll see some goals from this. With our forwards we can really mix things up... We have finishing, presence, speed and tenacity... Just a shame the attributes come from four strikers rather than one or two... :)-

he always goes to notts county on football manager.

but hope the manager opens his eyes, with the right players around him he is a good player! also have alot of time for Gareth, and hope he gets abit more time this season.
