Why is everyone so disappointed???

OK our squad amounts are low we are injury striken but the squad we have now are grinding out results at the moment. We are obviously in the middle of an injury crisis but we have 7 days then we can bring loanees in.

I for one do not want to see our club paying over the top prices for average back up. Davies and the board should draw up a list make their limits and negotiate then.

Panic buys get you nowhere and had he had a better oppurtunity to prepare for the window then I am sure we would see some decent signings at fair prices.

We have too many times over paid for average, underperforming players and to he honest I think we would all rather see no one than another batch of Eadens, Padulas and Silenzis.

We need players who will make the squad stronger and better and if they are not available then we have to deal with that.

There's a glaring weakness in the left back slot which doesn't look like it's going to get filled anytime soon.

That's the reason why I'm disappointed.

Still a couple of minutes left but I'd be surprised if anyone signed.

We have a good enough squad to stay up, brining in the right players now will only help our cause.

When does the Loan window open? Before Wednesday?

Doesn't matter if it did, if we signed anyone they still wouldn't be able to play the match that night.

This is really not the time for one of Mouldy's retarded monologues.

After Boxing Day I thought we needed at least four players to stand a chance of survival. Most agreed.

One good run of form under new management is not enough on its own to change this reality.

Two clubs didn't make use of the transfer window. Us and Burnley.

Every other club in this league has got at least one player in to strengthen.

All the other clubs have the same problems we have, some are in less attractive places, some have financial problems. Most have smaller attendances, worse facilities etc.

Our rivals have brought in players such as Mifsud, Porter and Gow. All good players that could have helped us.

We wasted our time making silly bids for players who were not for sale.

If a player is not for sale you need to make a good offer. Either sign players who are available or make bids teams can't turn down.

I knew the 3 players mentioned were available from reading the BBC sport section. I also knew that Hibs didn't want to sell Jones and Norwich want to keep Croft. All from BBC sport. I also know the Norwich are our rivals and won't be interested in selling Croft to us for £400k.

If I know these things with no inside information and no contact with clubs, why don't Forest?

I can't imagine a club without a senior left back, 1 senior keeper, no wingers and only 11 fit first teamers going into a relegation battle without taking the opportunity to sign backup. Absolutely unbelieveable.

im not bothered

id rather save our money and buy some cracking players in the summer

Hear hear, I cannot see how, after knowing what positions were desperate to be filled, we have filled, well none

I think the only reason people are dissapointed is because Davies has made a point of emphasing how we need experience and more bodies, yet we havent managed to do this.

Why we shoud not panic buy or spend silly money we really did need players.

If you look at our upcoming games we could very easliy lose three out of the next four and then we will be right back in danger.

The fact that other teams have stregthend around us just makes them stronger while our squad remains the same.

Tyson is injury prone and so is Earnshaw, take them away and we have one striker.

Left Back
Wingers
Striker

It's so clear what we need!!

If you look at our bench from the past few games, the only player we technically can bring on to change the game is Garner. Players like Reid/Byrne are not experienced enough or able enough IMO to change the game.

I was kind of expecting it.

What REALLY f**ked me off, was Forest having the nerve to update the website at bangon 5pm... with extended highlights of the cardiff game... yes the very one that proved we need some new bloody players

Just because they've bought players doesn't mean those players are any good. Mostly they're not - they're s**t.

Even Mifsud, who on paper appears to be one of the better ones, was let go by Coventry. Who are also crap and struggling. So even he must have question marks about him.

At the end of the season you will see that most of those clubs have blown money they couldn't really afford on players they didn't really need.

And so it is settled.

Lynch, Chambers, Wilson et al will be the defenders that fight to keep this club in the Championship. The same defenders that staged amateur-standard performances for the opening three months of the season.

If Paul Smith is injured we will turn to a teenage goalkeeper who proved a disaster in the Conference.

If Tyson's injury plague returns we are down to one striker.

Decisions like the one will either prove right or wrong at the end of the season. As they say you live or die by your decisions.

I don't think the club can't use the "we only want players in who are better than we got"cliche, come on how hard can it be not to buy a better left back than the one we have. (I'm not sure Jules can cut it at this level) In doing this we are tying up Chris Cohen in a position that is not natural to him.

The saying square pegs in round holes spring to mind, and I remember a certain person saying that wouldn't be happening.

They have all improved their squads - that's the bottom line.

Forest could have afforded new blood and did need it.

Even Captain Fantastic James Perch was in this morning's newspapers calling for new signings.

It is a genuine disgrace.

Mifsud, Gow and Porter would have all strengthened us. We don't have enough players fit and these 3 are all championship standard players. They were either free or very cheap. Not a waste of money at all.

Personally I blame this very forum for us not signing anyone. We've not done any business at all since this "Forest Transfers" subforum was introduced. GET IT DOWN!!!!!! ;D
