Cohen will fall short I feel, he can be quite leaden footed and ponderous. Marks for effort though.

Mckennas legs will probably give out.

First Team Squad
I would say the following have shown the ability that they could prove to be solid Premiership players:
Camp
Gunter
Shorey
Majewski
Blackstock
Earnshaw

I think the following could go either way:
Anderson
McGugan
Morgan

I fear for the rest of the squad and that includes captain marval as he can't pass.

The only way Wes Morgan mat succeed in the Premier League is because of the amount of effort he puts in and his love for the club

Add Wilson to that list.
This season he has shown that he is a sublime defender when at the top of his game. I think he would cope in the prem.

Every season , people always writes off Wes Morgan , doesn't it get tiring ?

The season after the yeovil debacle , some fans want him gone , some fans think he's a pub player , he proved all of them wrong.
After we promoted , everyone thought he would struggle in the championship , once again , he proved all of them wrong.
If we ever go up , no idea what will happen but Morgan has proven his critics wrong time and again , he probably could prove them wrong again. People are always overly critical of him.

id keep everyone to give them a go. if they are good enough to get out of this league then they can cope with the teams in the lower half of the prem.

Wasn't that Calderwoods theory on getting promoted from League One?

There were lots of similar discussions when we came up from league one, and similar size lists put together indicating how few of the squad would cope with the championship. I'd be interested if anyone has a squad list from the end of the 2007/8 season to compare with now and see how many have made the grade.

Unfortunately, he did not keep the squad , did he ? Instead of strengthening the team , he weaken it. The team that got promoted on the last day was stronger than the team that forest put out on the first day against reading - fact.

Commons , Clingan , Agogo , Holt all left. We did not replace Commons , Clingan & Agogo fully , did we ?

Camp, Shorey, Majewski has premiership quality...
Gunter, Kelvin Wilson, Wes, Chris Cohen, Paul Anderson, McGugan, Blackstock has premiership potential...

Don't know about Earnshaw really... I guess he has the quality...

Earnshaw (perhaps), Gunter, Shorey, Camp, Smith, McGugan (perhaps), Moussi (perhaps), Anderson.

Cohen could also make it. I suspect he may be able to hack it, however, as someone said earlier, he can be a bit lead footed at times.

Majewski....maybe.

At the moment, the only players who have enough quality to play in the Premiership are:

Camp, Gunter, Shorey, Majewski and Earnshaw.

However the following certainly have the potential: Morgan, Wilson, Anderson, McGugan, Cohen, Blackstock and Garner.

If we go up we need to be ruthless and strenghten throughout rather than just relying on those who got us up. May be harsh on them but look at what happened last season when we tried to rely on the promotion team.

Are the current lot as good as the last Forest team to play in the Premier League (probably one or two omissions):

Beasant, Rogers, Lyttle, Quashie, Harewood, Chettle, Stone, Johnson, Armstrong, Thomas, Bonalair, Darcheville, Gray, Freedman.

Apart from Stone, Beasand and Rogers at the time, that was a bloody awful side. I have horrible memories of that season, the worst being seeing us lose 5-0 at Anfield sitting in the Kop with a Liverpool supporting friend. Whilst the defeat itself was bad enough, being surrounded by smug scousers made it unbearable.

Odd that no-one's mentioned Nathan Tyson. Not in any category. Has he become the forgotten man of our squad?

Personally I's put him down as a 'definite-maybe' - he certainly has the pace for the Prem, and if asked I bet Man City's defenders would say he could make the grade...then again, it's not hard to score against City, is it? :D

People talk a lot of bollocks about "Prem quality" and if we'd survive.

These players wouldn't be playing Chelsea every week. If the 3 teams that went up can do ok, as they are doing, then we can. The Prem is a lot poorer in quality than it was a few years ago. I saw Brum twice last season againt Forest, they didn't look great. A few signings later and theyre 6th in the Premiership.

But in answer to the question, I think its easier to say who's not good enough. Tyson would struggle. Bennett and Perch may have problems. Everyone else could do a job aslong as we signed 3/4 decent players.

Unbelievable how little love Cohen gets. I was saying to Rich on Saturday, I think he's our best player, bar none.
