Came through Paul Harts youth team and made his debut for the first team in 2001 and was named player of the year in 2002, also playing 5 games for Scotland. Moved to Leicester in 2004 ( I think im right in saying that he said "Leicester are a bigger club than Forest" when he left) for half a million.

After spending 3 years at Leicester he moved to Watford who were then in the Premiership Only playing 3 times for them due to an unjury during training. Although recovering the following season, he suffered further setbacks due to the seriousness of the injury. Williams was released by Watford when his contract expired in May 2009.

He has trained with a few clubs in America but never gained a contract. Has not kicked a ball in a match for 3 and a half years, despite this he has not announced an early retirement form the game, he is curenntly a free agent at the age of 28.

When he went to Leicester I really hated him so much but now I don't care about that anymore as Commons is 10 times more of a Judas as he claimed he was playing for his hometown club that he supported for years, then he f**ked off down the A52 to Forest's biggest rivals.. Fat bastard.

Yes Commons is 10 times worst. Cried his eyes out when we went down then a few years later said i didn't support Forest nobhead.

He stiill has a place in Nottingham a couple of my mates from stafford repossessed his car a month or so back, they said hed been in america, they said he seemed like a nice bloke, i told them different .

Me as well. Completely over the fact that the gel-headed, backstabbing Judas went to the w**kers Stadium. See, can't you tell that I'm completely over it. :)

We got half a million for him. He's a knobjockey, but he's more likely to be a postman in future than a football player so all is good.

He was never very good when he was here. Kind of like mcgugan, every now and again he'd show a spark of something very good...but then spend the rest of the time just either being mediocre or poor.

Sad to see his career has gone down the pan to such a level where his car has been repossessed- I hope he gets something sorted.

Not usually one to reply to my own posts but I think that leaving a decade between posts makes this just about forgivable.

Gareth Williams was mentioned in the zoom chat between Dawson, Reid and Jenas and it occured to me that I hadn't thought about him in a long time which is a shame as he was a talented lad. Tarnished it a bit with his badge kissing exploits before jumping ship to Leicester but it was a shame the way his career ended. I put him on a par with Jenas and Reid at one point.

Anyone know what he's up to these days?
