What's in a Name?

PSR

Geoff Thomas
With no real transfer rumours to get our teeth into and only the Lisbon match tonight to look forward to I thought for a bit of fun and out of interest I'd ask the question as to where your forum names originated or came from.

Many are obvious - some are explanatory but there are quite a few with names that intrigues me enough to make a thread to find out how you chose it.

So if you do have a "Off the Beat" forum name, would you like to share it with us all?

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Caly in our Alley

Started out as Calymath - after being stuck for a name, I just picked the name from a play I was reading at the time.

This morphed into 'Caly In Our Alley' after I began a slightly unhealthy obsession with the wonderful Gracie Fields.

WIAN AKA Alex C - A well respected member back from the by gone days of Chillisauce. A Man whom most of us have never met but spoken to on many occasions, has a wonderful use of the English language and is actually a nice chap!!!

Gary

No wonder my post count..
Originally i signed up as Tomharding. It got a bit boring, so I changed it to forestBolton - well because I live in Bolton. It also earned me the nickname 'gary' which I was a tad bemused about but it's grown on me now.

I was in a russian restaurant in berlin and the name of our waitress was a waitress called alina clusternakova, she apparently threatened to cut the balls from my friend and place them in a clay oven, or that was the translation the russian sat nearby claimed. I joined LTLF about 2 days later so 'clusternakker' the ball cutter was still fresh in mind.

I happen to be Clifford the Big Red Dog. I am possibly Forest's most famous fan without opposable thumbs.

Its a shortened version of my original name "wemaybefamousagain". I decided that it was easier to use famous and at least this way my name will not be out of date if we do become famous again!

I've had about 17 different names I think.

I started off as Rowley-9, then it to Samuel with a stupid mixture of words afterwords, I can't remember them now but they bemused some people, I do remember seeing it one day and thought it was incredibly stupid and changed it!

I can't really many more, I was Jack The Ripper for a long time.

Eddie from Bottom was one of my favourite comedy characters and so i chose to hide my real name. Little did i know i'd end up with 50 of you as friends on facebook and end up meeting you regularly for pre-match drinks! My real name is Andrew, but i've got used to the way most ltlfers still call me Eddie,, or Edward in some cases!

I Hate Derby

Well my original name was I Hate D*rby lol
so its a name everyone on the forum will agree with!
(except from the d*rby fans who come on here occasionally)
