This remines me of the season in which we had Hart as manager, Lester & Blake playing and finishing in the playoffs only then losing to Sheff United, i remember thinking we are going to sign some great players and bulid on what we have, but what happened, lester sold, Blake sold etc etc and where did we end up not long after, fighting relagation and then relagated! are we going to make the same mistakes again

Lester and Blake? Harewood, Johnson & Huckerby we our key attackers when we lost in the playoffs to Sheff Utd.. And Robbie Blake was only on loan so how did we manage to sell him lol

Its abit early for that. If we get to the season and still havent signed anyone, then fair enough- but theres still over a month to go yet.

Why does all our business have to be conducted straight away? I'd rather we took our time and signed very good players that we actually want, rather than shooting our load early and bringing in mediocre players that wont really add anything like dorman and sharp.

Robbie Blake left Forest nearly 3 years before that Sheff Utd game. We didn't sell him, either. He was only here on loan.

I think our dire financial situation was the main reason we failed to strengthen in 2003. Something which isn't the case now.

I agree about players that forest want, trouble is though, they don’t seem to want us not only that, in whose opinion are the others mediocre, yours or the clubs?
And why not conduct our business early , sooner the better in my books, rather have a side with 5 weeks or so left working together now , than wait until the very end because you think we would stand more chance of getting better quality, more like more chance on losing out altogether , does last January not ring any bells. I’m not impatient mate, but I’m also not stupid enough to think taking your time in football when it comes to signing players will always result in your club signing better players

Im just not sure why you seem to be panicing already? Theres plenty of time for forest to sign plenty of players. Its not like the windows about to shut, in reality- its only just opened.
