What did the banner say?

It was something to do with Calderwood I think, couldn't read it properly at all from where I was.

It said something along the lines of 'Calderwood Obituary: Tactically inept, spineless, negative to the core'. I can't remember the exact wording but essentially that was the sentiment.

Personally, whilst I doubt anyone would argue aginst the fact that Calderwood could regularly be far too negative, he rescued us from that awful league and triggered the beginning of our renaissance. He was admittedly out of his depth as a Championship manager but he seemed to genuinely have the club's best interests at heart and appeared proud to be our manager. I therefore firmly believe that an anti-Calderwood banner was uncalled for, especially when you compare him to certain other managers of ours from the last decade.

That's totally uncalled for really. Yes, he had to go. But f***ing hell, we've had a lot worse. And who might we have got in Division 3 to do better? We only got somebody of BD's character because Calderwood had gotten us into the 2nd Division!

I didn;t see it, but I'm wondering if it was one that was fetched out of storage. I seem to remember last season, against Barnsley, there was a banner that had a similar phrasing.

Nothing is as lame as the Newcastle fans' banner... True Faith did it say? :leacock:

The Villa fans win on the banners-at-a-Newcastle-game last season for their spectacular "Who is your next idol? Ant or Dec?" banner :)

I'd understand and join in the criticism if Megson, Platt, Kinnear or Atkinson returned to the CG but leave Calderwood alone. I didn't like him when he was manger but he did his job in the end he got us to the Champ signed some good players but he was out of his depth and got sacked. Let's all move on.. Thanks Colin good luck in the future.

what kind of pratt sits at home with his felt tips and makes something like that?

He got us promoted for the love of Jesus H. Christ. These people must have been lost, Birmingham City fc is 60 miles down the road.

It was also Colin Calderwood who brought Guy Moussi to the club

I think you'll find it was the club that was brought to Moussi.

It was. And Earnshaw. And Garner. We also went for Majewski the season before this one as well, so I read.

How a man can liberate us from the worst period in our entire history, be a thoroughly decent bloke and still leave the club with so many people still with ill feeling towards him is not only ludicrous but actually thoroughly disheartening.

It's only a bloody game! In my world being a decent enough fellow, i.e. not a Neil Warnock, should make you immune from certain levels of abuse anyway, but considering his 2.5 seasons at Forest were a million miles away from a disaster it's even more perplexing.
