What did Fergie say about Forest ?

I keep reading on teletext that Fergie said something about Forest being a big club or something like that, related to Newcastle going down.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard it or what he actually said about us???

I know it pissed of some Leeds fans about being bigger then them :D

Probably related to this:

"There have been a lot of unlucky teams in world football but when you look at the pantheon of great teams you need to have won the European Cup to have that tag,"

As he's been talking a lot about defending the trophy, something that hasn't been done since the Champions League format was introduced.

I thought the beaming smile, Ferguson had on his chops when congratulating Phil Brown on Sunday spoke absolute volumes of his view of Newcastle

I think this is the quote your after...

"It's no surprise to see some big names down there. It happened to Nottingham Forest, to Newcastle before. It's happened to Manchester United."

He also said this

"It is unusual that no one has done it (defended the trophy) since the Champions League started, but we are good at doing things first and this is our opportunity.

"Great teams used to do it but not now. We have an opportunity and hopefully it is something we can tick off."

No wonder my post count..
We'll eventually take it off them.

I can't decide which channel to watch the final on. ITV are generally gash, and have Tyldesley w**king over ManYoo, so they are very much a last resort. But how much will Sky fornicate over ManYoo winning?

Come on Barcelona!!

I'm sticking to Sky for the final. You're totally right about ITV w**king all over ManYoo. That knobhead Tyldesley and his "that night in '99" bollocks that he ALWAYS comes out with. Sod that, Sky aren't a great deal better in the ManYoo lovefest, but i'll chance it.

I hate Tyldesly and his dramatic ways, any bet he uses another boxer comparison tonight, especially if someone goes a goal down

'Man U are just like a boxer who has taken a flurry of heavy blows at the moment, trying to regain clarity and concentration'

****.

That settles it. Sky it is. At least they understand a bit about football, unlike Steve Rider.

Sky Sports all the way, mainly because it'll be in HD.

I believe Ant and Dec will be doing the ITV post match analysis.

Unless they get the Newcastle job first, in which case they will be replaced by Kate Thornton, and on ITV4, The Loose Women will be giving their reaction straight after final whistle.

Half time punditry will be supplied by a plethora of celebrity London based ManYoo fans, who will be invited into Andy Townsend's tactics truck for vol-au-vents and champagne served by Robbie Earle.

Why do the arse licking media keep on about Manure "making history" tonight? Is it because "nobody has retained the trophy during the CL era" as I keep hearing?

I keep hearing that but also keep hearing how this would be their fourth european cup. They can't have it both ways - is it the same competition or not??

In my opinion, the 'Champions' League is becoming as predictable as the Premiership.

It won't change until Monsieur Platini and his bum chum Blatter pull their fingers our of each others arses and do something about putting the 'Champions' back in the Champions League.

End rant.

While we're changing the format of the so-called champions league, let's hope someone will have the guts to change the format of the English Premier League. Otherwise it's going to be very hard to break into that particular club.
