What did BD exactly say about Garner?

Everyone is talking about it, but I can't find it anywhere what was said.

When someone asked what was said, everyone ignores the question it seems! :(

i no longer like the bloke. he put all the young players down and basically said that they haven't got a future under him after the summer when he gets his players in now maybe that might encourage some but others might be de-motivated by that. i agree that sinclair isn't good enough but a million miles aways a bit harsh.

Lots of people are putting words in his mouth, what he said was, some players in the team lack the skills necessary to compete at this level. He's right.

He also said that those players need to get their heads down & learn the skills needed at this level. He's right

His opinion of Sinclair is spot on, exactly what everyone else at Forest (including fans) have said for ages.

At no time did he say that he was going to let any of these players go & I'm sure that if they are prepared to get their heads down & bloody well graft at becoming a better player they will figure in his plans, when they are ready.

Everybody moaned when CC used to give his interviews & never showed an ounce of passion. Now we have a man who wears his heart on his sleeve & is prepared to say what needs to be said & suddenly he's the devils spawn! I suggest a few on here lack the necessary skills to take part in reasoned debate on a message board. I know this because Billy told me

I've had a good think about this today and agree it could go either way , under CC we tried the softly softly approach and it didn't work (otherwise CC may still be here).

I have seen a few documentaries on the 'horse whisperer' technique where someone (or animal etc) does something wrong - you tear seven shades of shit out of them, when they do something right (no matter how small) - you heap praise on them, this technique has been successfully applied to numerous kids which have gone off the rails, dog training and is a recognised method of getting results.

I believe this is the technique Davis using - to get a reaction from the players this saturday to 'prove him wrong', after all don't forget he's spent a long while studying coaching across the world and has a excellent track record in this division.

I was surprised as everyone else by his comments especially as he was 'satisfied with his squad' a few weeks ago. I think part of the negativitity is no-one knows what the f*** is happening behind closed doors - where are these loan players? why did we fail in the transfer window? Is the dressing room split? I'm sure even if we bring a couple of players in it will give everyone a massive lift including the team.

We shall soon be able to judge whether his management techniques are working or failing - I'll wait until Saturday at 3.00pm!

U reds!

I think Garner is being treated quite badly. He only returned from a very serious injury 2 or 3 months ago and i for one was surprised how well he played at first but it now seems it's catching up with him. For Davies to single him out and question his future at Forest is just plain wrong. Garner has a very bright future in football and i hope it is with Forest. If Garner is sullking Davies should give him a kick up the backside but doesn't need to do it on BBC radio.

I also agree with you mate - and also let's not forget that BC was never shy about "telling it like it is" when it came to the performance of his players. (young & old)

Oh FFS, how many more times!

Listen to the interview, if you can't be arsed to do that then don't comment.

BD Has not questioned his future at Forest

WINNITS, I see why you jacked it in mate  :nowink:

I have listened to the interview and i got the impression that he wanted Garner out because of a few bad performances. Judging by your post i'm sure i'm wrong and you're right.

Yes, but BC would never get onto a player when they were playing poorly, he would tell them how great they were. He only slated players when they were playing brilliant to stop them getting big headed.
However, there are NO BC's about anymore and everybody has their own approach to getting the best out of players, so why don't we give BD a chance as he has not been here very long. He may well be the best thing to happen to the club since BC!

Listen, BD was asked why he took Garner off, he responded thus:

"Well we need better, simple as that. We need better performers, we need harder workers, we need people that are winning headers & at the moment we have got one or two young players who are out of their depth & when they don't perform I need to change em"

RC asks if he's one of those struggling at the moment

"Well I think his performances over the last few games have not been what it (sic) should be & we need more from these, these young players have got to come in & put in a performance, not just Joe Garner but certainly a number of other players who are playing at this level at the moment who are very much out of their depth & the bottom line is we need men to play men in the mens jersey's. We had some fantastic performances, we had some fantastic leaders but we've just not got enough of them"

RC then asks about Sinclair & Garners name isn't mentioned again

So I post the questions.

1. Where did he question Garners future at the club?

2. Where did he single Garner out for criticism?

3. Where did he say he wanted Garner out

It really sickens me that as per usual, we as Forest fans are spending more time f***ing bitching at each other, bitching about the manager, bitching about the CE, bitching about the owner instead of supporting the Reds. No wonder the f***ing sheep shaggers laugh at us.

1. Davies thinks Garner is 'out of his depth' doesn't look good for him does it?

2. Taking Garner off at half time is quite a statement.

3. 'we need men to play in mens jerseys' He considers Garner a 'baby'.

I'm not bitching. I just hope Garner stays at Forest.

Ah, so you were reading his mind & not listening to his voice. I commend your powers.

1. Garner was out of his depth last night, if he had left him on the pitch it would have been poor management. Decide what you would rather have

2. Of course it was a statement. Pull your f***ing socks up Garner or you're dropped.

3. He is, metaphorically speaking, a baby. He needs to realise that he isn't Marco Van Basten yet & that unless you go out & do what I (Billy Davies) ask you to do then you will get subbed.

Garner has real talent, he needs to forget he's a million pound signing & get back to doing what he did so well at Carlisle, namely, upsetting the opposition defenders, kicking the bastards if necessary, getting his head in where it hurts etc etc etc.

Hopefully he learned a lesson last night.

I just hope he doesn't freeze Garner out like he did Earnshaw at Derby. But whatever we'll find out what Billy's about in the summer.

Rossy, thank you, it was nice having a bit of reasoned debate with somebody.

Like you say, we'll find out in summer

It quotes him in full on the Official site.

'That bloody Garner is an overrated pile of dog's mess. Most of these players do not have a bloody clue which goal to aim for. Frankly Forest need Garner like they need a hole in the head. Nigel Doughty told me there would be fifteen million to spend on transfers as well as selling whoever I wanted to. Mark Arthur looks absolutely ridiculous in a dress and five inch heels on matchday. That Forest Liz is putting it around a bit.'

I think he's got a pretty good grasp on what's happening at the club.
